Hello again!
Can anybody tell me exactly what the purpose of the Guest Services Card is for people with disabilities? I have read different things on different websites. I plan on renting an EVC and didn't know if I needed to get one of the cards or not? Any suggestions?:confused3

It's purpose is to try to meet a guest's needs. If mobility is your only problem, then you are doing what WDW suggests (renting an ECV.) If you have other needs, you need to be specific in stating them to Guest Services. They will then tell you whether they can accommodate you or not. You probably will not need anything else.

Read the FAQ at the top of this thread for more info.

The Card is called a Guest Assistance Card and the name says pretty much what it is - a Card the helps to tell Cast Members (CMs) what sort of Assistance a Guest needs because of their disability.

There is a section about Guest Assistance Cards (GACs) in the disABILITIES FAQs thread that is near the top of this board. Even though it is not 'official', a number of CMs who work in Guest Relations have read it and verified that it is accurate information.

If you are using an ECV, you will probably not need a GAC. The CM will be able to see that you need an accessible line/boarding area. Most of the attractions actually are accessible, so you will find that in most cases, you will just be using the same entrance as everyone else.

If you have additional needs that are not met just by using an ECV, then you would need to get a GAC so the CMs can help to meet your needs.
