Guest Book pens

I have my guest book for my at home recpetion next week and I have been looking EVERYWHERE to pens. I have been looking for the Slick Writer by American Crafts but can not find them in stores. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get them in store or any suggestions what else I can use?? I think I have left it too late to order online. I have looked at Michaels and JoAnns.

You could look for Sharpie's newish water-based archival quality pens in your local shops.

And probably anything they have at Michael's/JoAnn's that says it's good for scrapbooking (acid-free, archival, etc.) would do.


Alternatively, how far do you live from LA? I could mail you mine!

I'm just using a regular ultra fine Sharpie (in Purple, of course!)...will that not be ok? Do I need an archival pen?

I am realizing I didn't give enough thought for stuff for the at home wedding reception, like I did the Disney Wedding...uh oh...

The thing about regular Sharpies is that they bleed through the paper and the ink can get yellowish edges around it over time b/c it's not acid-free/archival/whatever they call it.

The American Crafts Slickwriters come highly recommended, but I had to buy mine online cuz I couldn't find them anywhere locally. However, surely craft stores like Michaels or art supply stores (do you have Pearl or Dick Blick in NYC?) sell some kind of acid-free/archival-quality pen you can use.

I just got 3 archival quality, acid free pens at Walmart. In their scrapbooking section they had a couple on clearance, they cost me $3.50 for all 3!

I buy mine at my Local Scrapbook store or online when I need a specific color. (twopeasinabucket.com sells them)

The standard markers from Michaels will need time to dry. I haven't tried the new Sharpie ones, but may have to get those to test.

Regular Sharpies are not archival safe. If that is something you are concerned about then I'd suggest getting a pen/marker that is.

Sorry, I'm a scrapbooker and have been around the block with markers.

Thanks!!! The closest Wal-Mart to me is at least 30 min away!!! (it is sad b/c I LOVE wal mart!!! I just dont have time for the drive right now!!) But I did 3 pens for like $5 so its ok!!!!

I Found 3 Slick Writers by American Craft at Michaels. They had a pack of 5 and then single black. I went back a couple of times and looked in all differnt places. It didnt help to ask the people who worked there they did not know. I didnt check JoAnns b/c I found them but I might when I get home to see if they are there!

That is acually not true. When i said I found them I got 3 Slick Writers by American Craft at Michaels, so Hobby Lobby is not the only place that sells them. They had a pack of 5 and then single black.

I wish we had a hobby lobby near us!! I love that store!!! It would make all this alot easier!!!
