Anyone have any good insight? We are going in October and I kind of want to book my flights and forget about it at this point but I am holding out for better prices. Thanks.

We're holding out for better prices in August...last year we booked in June for September and paid much less than what they are listing this years September flights at.

What kind of prices are you looking for? SW has reduced the number of flights to places like Orlando. The days of getting R/T airfare of $150 may be gone. JMO but I'd consider booking anything around $250 R/T. You can get a credit if I'm wrong and SW winds up offering deep discounts.

I booked mid-June for the return flight (SWA $79) and 7/1 for the outbound (Delta $69) for a late Sept trip. Right now I'm looking at $114 each way with either bad flight times (SWA) or baggage fees (Delta). I look every day, usually more than once, and I wait.

I am waiting for Ding Fares from BDL to Tampa or Orlando, for the end of June. Today is the first day I've seen Ding fares for June (up until now it was May).

Our flights are $134 one way right now -- our return flight will be on July 1st and the cheapest flight is $174 I think?? We might stay in FL a little longer if we can score a cheaper flight home.

Crossing fingers!!

We are going in August from BDL and I would be happy with a $250 round trip ticket pp. Right now it's $325...the most we have ever paid in 10 years. We are waiting to book, hoping for a ding.

I would be happy with $250 round trip as well. Right now it's about $300 per person and not my first choice for flight times. I just keep hearing about everyone getting $114 or less and wish we would get the same deals here...I'll keep waiting.....

Well...never mind. I just booked Delta for $260 pp round trip. Costing us $1125.00 total for the 4 of us. All of the waiting and guessing with SW was making me crazy. I know we're going to have to pay for luggage but if we check 3 bags total that's an extra $150 round trip and I would have paid $80 for SW EBCI so it's not really that much more. What really made up mind though was the better flights offered on Delta. I got just the flights I wanted there and home so I feel like I have piece of mind and am happy. Ahhhhhh...I can breathe now for a little bit...at least until April 19th when I can make my dining ressies but that's a whole other thread...Anyway, good luck to you all who are waiting for SW...hope you get what you want!

for peace of mind. Glad you're comfortable with what you got. Really, that's all you can ask. Everyone's comfort level is different. I am getting a little antsy but I can still wait. I think, like you, I am going to go with Delta's better times vs. SW's free bags. We'll only check 1 bag each way so $46 vs $20 for SW's EBCI (only do that coming back) and $26 is well worth the extra time we'll get to play. Right now that makes the fare $546 RT for the 2 of us. I think the $373 we paid last year may be unrealistic so I'm looking for no more than $400 plus the bag fees. One of these days this waiting game will bite me in the @#$@#, hopefully not yet though!!!:thumbsup2

Good for you for holding out Pooch...I wish I could do the same but I get so nervous that maybe there wouldn't be any seats left or the prices would go way up. Totally irrational, I know but I tell you I did sleep better last night! I'm a nut! Good luck!

so I do have some history to back my courage with!! And, while checking the fares on Delta, I always pull up the seating chart to be sure the flight's not getting too full. On SWA, I always search for 8 seats even though I only need 2, to be sure there is still availability. You are so not totally irrational. I do understand the comfort provided by having the flight booked!!! I'll keep you posted on what I actually get.:thumbsup2
