My bosses' daughter had a visit from Make-A-Wish today and officially wished for a trip to Disney World! :wizard: I'm so proud of her :teeth:

Anyway, it looks like they might be staying at Give Kids the World when they go! I know they'll be well taken care of there.

It's awesome to know that the money the DIS and DIS'ers have raised will help make this trip possible :goodvibes

If you're interested in reading more or don't know the backstory, here's Charlotte's CaringBridge page:

How totally cool! We were down a week ago and drove by the GKTW site. You can't see much because there are walls to protect it but the color schemes and design from what I saw were great. I hope they enjoy the visit there. Please let us know how it goes!

That is so awesome that Charlotte is well enough to make it back to Disney for a Make a Wish trip, Annette! You have obviously been a wonderful influence :goodvibes I loved her clarification - Minnie-Land! You will have to make sure her parents hear Dave's interview http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-podcast/archives.htm from April 29, 2009. I can't wait to hear more!

As soon as they mentioned GKTW, I gave them the link to the interview :thumbsup2

Annette...

If she is interested...or if you are... there is a TON of information about wish trips and GKTW on the DIS. In fact, we have a thread dedicated to wish families.

It is in my siggie below (the blue link). It is long...but anyone can jump right in.

The first two posts have a lot of basic information that they may need/want.

Wish trips are SOOOO special, but they are also tricky to plan because GKTW had activities and they want the park time, etc. And they only get three days in Disney paid for.

I also do planners for these families (excel spreadsheet), even if they are not on the DIS at all, if they are interested. They include the regular GKTW activities as well as Disney activities they may be interested in. Totally free, of course.

PM if you would more info...I could talk about wish trips for a week straight. :lmao:

That is awesome! Thank you! I'll send them the link to your Wish Trips thread.

there is never one way to go in any cancer treatment protocol and unfortunately, many doctors are often less than open about treatment alternatives.

PNET has a number of clinical trials (including phase III) under the auspices of the National Cancer Institute.

I don't know who's considered the best PNET expert in the country, but no doubt there is such a person somewhere. Consulting with the expert might be worthwhile (although it can be frustrating, since cancer treatment is as much art as science and medical opinions often differ - leaving the patient in the middle, not really knowing what to decide).

i wish Charlotte and her family the very best and i hope they have a wonderful and magical time at WDW!
