ME!

I'm on a new mix of meds. My doctor cut back on the narcotics because I was becoming addicted to them and put me on a mix of Vicodin and Neurontin.

Neurontin is an epilepsy medicine but has been used to fight chronic pain. It basically numbs the nerve endings so you don't feel the pain anymore. It's there but you don't feel it. It was a rough drug to get me adjusted to though because it does mess with your mind a bit - yikes

But as for right now - I'm not 100% pain free but in maybe 50% less pain than before. I guess I'll take that over not being able to walk.

So.. what's new in Collectors land? Has everyone been behaving? I know Jeff has behaved because I have kept in touch with him via phone (someone has to keep an eye on him )
I dunno about Ed though - We try but he's a handful.

I do want to thank everyone once again. especially Peggie, for that WONDERFUL and thoughtful surprise you sent me. You guys made me cry!! I felt like I was there afterall. I love you guys!

So you want to know what has been happening? Basically we have all WAY over spent our pin budgets, yet that will NEVER stop us!

I haven't been on the boards lately w/ the cruise and all, but imagine my surprise when I peek in tonight and see your post...that is just the best news...I am sooo happy for you, and I'll bet you are happy for you too

So keep building up your pain threshold, and get yourself in shape for a Disney trip...we would so love to see you guys..

And about Ed....Even I can't keep him in line....he was the hit of the karoke on the cruise...

I am so glad that you are feeling somewhat better. I hope the meds continue to work and we can see each other at the parks soon.

if they can keep me on the same track as I am right now and nothing adverse happens.. I could forsee a solo trip in January. I could use the break!

I'm not going to hold my breath though. This medicine has been known to play bad tricks on people that use it for reasons outside of it's original purpose. One of the main things is it can cause people to commit suicide or become suicidal. So needless to say I can be ripped off of this med at a moments notice!

One bad thing - since I can't feel most pain, I have no idea when I hurt myself..lol I had an accident on weds at work and when my meds start wearing off it feels like I broke/sprained my wrist. Guess it's time to see the doc again!

I sure hope it isn't broken, and if it is I hope it isn't the arm that you use for your famed "button" you can use to keep Ed in line..

Let me know how you are, and We would love to see you in Jan..that would be a nice relaxing visit...you know that Ed would see to that..

Wow-i get on early this morning to read mail and whose posting do i see but yours - it is so wonderful Lauri to see you back on to visit and keep us up to date with your progress. We will continue to keep you in our prayers - i am convinced they all work. And a solo trip- you know Ed will take excellent care of you... on second thought, are you sure you can handle this???
