Guess I'll add Coral Reef to our ADRs...

I nixed it last time due to the high percentage of really bad reviews. It's still not getting a high percentage of good reviews, but...

DD was bummed we didn't get there last time. She really wants to eat where she can watch the water life.

DS will be 6 and he'd enjoy that, too.

FIL loves seafood.

We don't have a seafood restaurant on our list

And it seems like a better choice than Captain's Grill for a late lunch.

So, I guess we'll give it a try... :)

I don't ever suggest picking or dismissing restaurants because of the reviews other people have given them. If the menu looks good to you, try it for yourself.

Nala - have you eaten at CR? If so, would you have a preference of eating there for lunch on the same day that you'd planned to eat at Ragland Road or Tutto Italia?

I have 2 "heavy" lunches planned (Coral Reef and Les Chefs de France). One needs to go with Ragland Road, and the other with Tutto Italia. Which would you do with which?

I would have no problem eating lunch there prior to an evening TS meal, especially if it wasn't a really late lunch. Just book an early lunch and you should be fine.

Never been to Tutto Italia so I don't know if I could do any recommendation for you that would be accurate. But Raglan Road has some stuff that isn't really heavy. Personally I can't count Coral Reef as a heavy lunch, but I just had fish, sorbet and a glass of wine. (I don't do the dining plan)

I agree with TDC Nala about not picking or dismissing restaurants because of reviews! Sci-Fi gets some of the worst reviews ever, and it's our absolute favorite!

I pick my restaurants by looking at the Food Porn threads and seeing photographs of the foods! If I see something that looks good in a picture, I'll try the restaurant and see for myself! It's also a great way to help determine portion sizes!

I haven't tried CR yet, but I have an ADR there for my next trip! I'm looking forward to trying it!

DH doesn't do seafood so DD and I are doing to try Coral Reef in early September when we take our Disneyschooling girls-only trip. I know the reviews are horrible but lots of people don't like 'Ohana either, LOL! She'll love the atmosphere and it's one meal out of a gazillion others so why not?

We actually really enjoyed our meal here in 2007! I wanted to go back on our upcoming October trip but we don't have room for it so it's on the list for 2011!

We have never dissed CR and just ate there for the 3rd time. We generally really like it, however this time we were disappointed with the menu change (we didn't know they had changed and they took our 2 favorite dishes off the menu). The food we ordered was not as good as what we were used to. It was still an enjoyable experience - we really do like to watch the sea life - and the chocolate wave was still delish!
