With a trip coming up in a few weeks and the new LLs, I'm curious what people think is the best strategy for riding Guardians? Until the changes, my plan would have been to try for the virtual queue at 7 am and if I didn't get it, try to get a LLSP for it. But now, because ppl can book LLSPs in advance, I'm not sure if I should buy it before my trip or just hope that I can get in the VQ. We only have one day at Epcot and are not park hopping. There are four of us (DW, DD, DS).

It comes down to, are you okay not riding it? If it is a 'must do' then I would purchase LLSP. If you're okay missing it should you not be successful getting a VQ and LLSP being sold out then I would recommend VQ.

Thoughts to add to the great info from @scrappinginontario you do get 2 chances at the VQ. One at 7 AM and another at 1 PM. Also you could always purchase your LLSP for Guardians to make sure you are able to ride Guardians and with the new LLSP you have the option to modify the experience to another SP experience at another park as will as a different time.

Yes you can purchase a LLSP and try for a VQ at 7 AM or 1 PM (if you tap into the park before 1) and no you don't have to stay in the park to be able to try at 1 PM.

Thanks everyone! I'm pretty sure we'd all be very disappointed if we didn't get to ride it. We rode it twice last time we went in 2022. As the Disney planner for the family I think buying the LL is the way to go. They put their blind faith and trust in my knowledge of strategy and navigation.

EDIT: Removed the Thrill Data times I had. Those were for Tiana not GoG!

LLSP is usually a 15-25 minute wait (most of that is waiting in the preshow rooms). The VQ can get over an hour long.
Thanks, that's good to know. In 2022 I did both the LL and VQ and they put us all in the same queue. Good to know they are different now. At least it's an interesting queue!

This is going to be our question to when we go in Oct....was planning on buying LLSP day of, if we don't get the first VQ, but now that there doesn't seem to be availability to purchase day of, I think we're going to just pre-buy it, IF we even get that. The way that the LLSP is selling out early, I'm worried. We've never not gotten a GotG VQ, but have missed Tron, so you never know. I want to make sure kids ride it.

When we went before (was 2 years ago) we did two and got to ride 2x in a day. But I agree with others, depends if it is a must do or not. If it is a must do, get the LLSP because that is the only way to gaurantee.

Before your trip, keep track of Thrill Data. It will show you what pre booking is tracking before your day. That is what I did today with my window tomorrow

We did both ways in May. LLSP was a much, much shorter wait. About 15 minutes compared to 45-50 for VQ. Plus the return times for LLSP were wide open and we could pick a time convenient for us.

Thought I'd update because my LL booking window opened this morning. I ended up buying the LLSP. I'm still going to try to get the virtual queue and maybe ride it twice!

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and advice!

We are coming to Epcot from Universal on August 18th. We probably won't be in Epcot until the evening/late afternoon. I won't be in the park to be able to request a 1pm Lightning Lane then (probably won't be there until 4 or 5pm). Do I have an option of riding Guardians via the Virtual Queue? Getting one at 7am will probably end up with my return time hours earlier, and I'm thinking the 1pm will probably be sold out by the time I get into the park. Any thoughts apart from buying a Single Pass?
