Guardians of the Galaxy is awesome! Just like ToT was. The drops aren't slower. But by all means, tell your wife they are and then get her on it. Video the whole thing and TikTok it. PLEASE!!!!

We just went to Disneyland for the first time but we’ve been to WDW several times. I don’t love ToT at Hollywood Studios but we’ll usually do it once. The creepy theme plus the drop…it’s just a bit much for me. We had 3 days at DLR and we didn’t go to GotG until our second day because I assumed it was just like ToT and wasn’t Super excited for it. But we went on it and we all LOVED it! The theming of the ride is so fun and upbeat that it totally took my mind off the drops and just made it fun and thrilling, not creepy. A lady who was on the ride with us told us we had the most intense/best one for our first ride, it was “Hit me with your best shot” I think. Our second one was “free ride” which was also fun. We were kicking ourselves for not going on it our first day because we loved it that much!

They didn't build the ride on the same footprint, it is literally the same ride. They reskinned it, thematically. They added large screens that show movie clips and added a musical soundtrack. The drop sequence was simply reprogrammed and is now more intense. Same elevator, same core ride.

Your wife should skip it.
