I am not sure if I should book a guaranteed rate for a category 10 or go for the category 9 for $90 more and be guaranteed an ocean view. How likely are you to get an upgrade (we are a family of four)? If we go for the category 9 what deck is best 2 or 1 I've heard that 2 can be noisy but am sure that there are better rooms. I do get a bit motion sick although we cruised last year on the 4 day and I was fine. We were on a higher deck though at category 8 which we can't get now due to our family size. Please let me know what you think!!!! Thanks!

$90 per person or $90 for the whole party? If it's only $90 for the whole party, go ahead and spend that $90. It will be worth it for you just to not have that uncertainty.

If you really must have an oceanview, then book the Cat 9. Don't book a cat 10 hoping for an upgrade. If you really do not care if you have an oceanview, save $90 and book Cat 10.

As far as deck 1 or 2 goes, I have stayed on Deck 1 in a Cat 9 in February and LOVED IT!!! We were a few doors down from the mid-ship elevators which were so convenient. And the best of all was the easy access on and off the ship for shore excursions.

We are staying in two Cat 9's on Deck 2 on the 8/3/02 cruise, so I will be able to compare decks. We are in 2048 and 2046, right under guest service desk.

Try booking the secret porthole rooms. They are a category 10 price with obstructed view porthole. They are located on deck 5.

It's $90 for the whole party so I think that's what we'll do. Then we won't be worried about it. Why is deck 2 considered loud? Because of engine noise or the dance clubs etc. above you? Thanks for all of your help everyone!

We stayed at the aft by the elevators on deck two. The only time we hear a loud noise is the morning we arrived back to Port Canaveral when the motors ran to turn the ship around. Actually it was a good wake up call!! :D Other than that morning it was quite and the elevators are usually not busy, easy to catch one!!
