What beautiful beach pictures! It's been a long time since we've been to the beach. Now, with all the oil spill damage to the beaches close by (well hours away but relatively close), I doubt we'll be going to the beach any time soon.

I feel so bad about what is happening at the beaches your way; it is just so sad.

Will we go to the pool or the beach this day? Or will we stand/sit on the dock and watch for dolphins? Or the manatee? Or the jellyfish? This is what is so great about Marco...you can do whatever you want and have a relaxing time.

Definitely want to do the two shows. Mark saw the doctor yesterday to go over the surgery, the cans and can'ts after the surgery, etc. Definitely NO roller coasters at all.

I just think dolphins are so beautiful...I love watching them. And I love "relaxing" vacations after the stress of every day life.

I forgot two very important items in the "new" itinerary I posted the other day.

The first is that Mark and I will be having a DIS meet at the pool (and perhaps elsehwere) with MaryAZ and her beautiful daughters, Avery and Cayley. I think Mark will love having little ones to play with in the pool, and Mary and I can have an adult beverage and have "adult" talk.

Second, I am still working on the particulars of a DIS meet with several people who are staying at the Coronado the same time we are and haven't quite figured out the "either/or" as to which time/date to select from (multiple choice).

I'll respond to everyone later, but good news is we won't have to cancel the Disney part of our trip (unless the car dies or something). Our oldest son insists on giving us the money we need. He said that he told us his plan was to help us with the school loans once he was out of school. He has about $8000 put away and he doesn't touch this for his own school loans and he is buying a car (his is done -- 185,000 miles later). He said it won't hurt him to take money out of his savings so we can go. He said we deserve it and we can consider it part of his payment toward the school loans. He made me cry with the offer.

Yay, trying to figure out when it work. Looking at ur schedule maybe sun aft before you meet with Joe and Sophia? We were going to MK in the am and Epcot in the pm. But if we are doing MK EMH then we could probably do Ep in the am-hotel/swim/rest/eat in the pm then MK. I am very excited for adult conversation since it will be limited on this trip

Kathy - I have finally read through the whole thread. I am more of a lurker most of the time, but felt l should speak up. I am so glad you are able to go on your trip. Sending TONS of pixie dust your way that nothing else happens and your summer dries up a little bit. Hopefully that rain will settle here for a while. . Your new last day "tradition" brought tears to my eyes. What a great way to take a moment and remember your dad. When you were talking about your last day it made me think about how sad I get (and my daughter) when we say goodbye to the World. Even though we know we will be back, it is still a little bit sad. Hope everything goes smoothly with Mark's surgery and he recovers really quickly. Can't wait to read the rest and your TR!!!!

Relaxing is exactly what it is...and the perfect thing to do after all of our running at Disney.

Mary, we've plenty of time. But if you want and are going to do MK EMH on Sunday, we can go over together. Then we could take pictures of each other and one of the girls could ride with me or Mark while you ride with the other girl. We'd be happy to do that (it's been a long time since we shared Disney with little ones). We'll keep in touch and make plans as we get closer to the date.

Of course, this weekend is supposed to be low 80's and no rain and Mark is done umpping for the year because he has to work this weekend and then has his surgery on Wednesday. I would do anything for my dad and I know this brings a smile to his face.

Thanks, Amy. Andy is a big blessing in our lives for many, many reasons. And, he and Nicole seem to be on track (she was here last night for several hours because she just got back from Michigan where she went for the holiday with her parents. I responded to your PM.

Well, Mark met with the doctor and we now have the details of his surgery--when we have to be there, the preparation required, the time of the surgery, how long it will take, how long in recovery, etc. Of course, they also gave us a list of ALL the risks of spine surgery so I will be an absolute WRECK until the surgery is over and I see him and know that everything went well. The surgery is Wednesday (the 14th) at 12:30. I will update as soon as I can, or I will be calling Nicki and I will have her post for me in case I spend the night at the hospital with Mark.
