Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

All caught up again! Great pics! Looks like a fun night! The only ADR we have is the Plaza. It had something for everyone and ICE CREAM. I am with Tim on VOTLM. It is a fun show.

I want to try the Plaza! I've wanted to since the first trip, but still haven't. :sad2: It's on the "if we are feeling like a sit down" list for this trip - I hope we feel like it and can get a walk-up! Are the fries the steak cut ones? They used to have nice thick-cut ones at CHH that were incredible!!! but have gone to the normal Disney fry within this last year. :headache:

Well, I'm not quite ready for an update. So I'm going to "borrow" from a few of the other threads that I'm following and post a question for each day of our Disney days. I am going to post the three things we "can't miss" and then I want you to add JUST ONE thing you think we should "not miss" at the park for that day.

Day One, Part One:

Disney Studios -- Toy Story Mania, Beauty & The Beast, Animation Studios (first time ever to draw a picture...and we hope it is NOT Stitch)

Streetmosphere!! :thumbsup2

I almost missed your update!

Hmmmm....playhouse Disney.

Kidding! :lmao:

I would have to agree with Streetmosphere, it makes DHS so unique!

Well, I would say RnRC but I know with Mark's surgery you can't do that. Sooooo, I'm going to say - pick up a treat from Starring Rolls. I always miss out on grabbing one of their delectable looking cupcakes, I really need to move it to the top of my 'must do' list :thumbsup2

Poor Stitch! Juliana just watched Lilo & Stitch today. We had a really crummy day with rain all day. UGH! You'll be happy to know I am writing an update for my TR, although by the time I am done you will probably be sleeping. :3dglasses

Hummmm..... What about VOTLM? Have you seen that? It is a cute show.

Hm....we've not done VOTLM in about ten years. That's a good thought.

Gotta love Plaza ice cream. :)

Yes, the fries are still the steak cut ones (at least they were last September).

Streetmosphere!! :thumbsup2

Good thought.

Thanks for the ideas.

Good idea!

For some reason I knew you would say that.... :scratchin :rotfl:

HAHA.... Good one!

Mr. Comedian! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Okay, going to wait and see if I get any more responses before I move on to Day 1, Part 2.

I like your second suggestion much more than your first one (especially since I hate RnRC :rotfl:). Now, that cupcake sounds really good.

Well of course, since I LOVE ToT more than anything, I would say that, but I'm guessing Mark can't go on it, so my suggestion is MUPPETS!!! I know a lot of people think it's lame, but I love it! :lovestruc

I LOVE TOT myself and I think I may do it by myself (Mark can go sit and have an ice cream or something while I'm at it.

Okay, for Day One, Part One, I've added Muppets, Streetmosphere, a cupcake from Starring Rolls and Tower of Terror (this I'll do by myself).

Day One, Part Two:

We wil lbe at the MK for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween. We have never done this so I need lots of help from all of you guys. What are the TOP 3 things we should NOT missing during this party?

Two of the three are easy - you have to watch Hallowishes, probably the best Disney fireworks show I've ever seen. And you must see the parade, the headless horseman at the beginning is so cool! We skipped the 1st parade and ate dinner during it, very low crowds in the restaurants during the parade, they were packed afterwards. We went to the 2nd parade and had no trouble finding a good spot on the curb, in the hub, just 30 minutes before parade time.

Also be sure and get your picture taken with the characters all dressed up, their costumes are really fun. Plus you'll have an opportunity to see lots of villians that aren't normally out and about much. :thumbsup2

I can't help much with this one since we've never been...but from other TRs, I think seeing the characters all dressed up would be a lot of fun! Also the parade is very popular.

We had great seats -- 7th row right behind the visitors dugout.

I'll try to do an update tomorrow. Tonight we are going out with our friends Shelley and Tom (they are our good friends who went with us for our 25th anniversary trip) and Sue and Louie (friends from our "bar days"). Tomorrow Markie's softball team is in the semi's and hopefully the championship game; but I should be able to get something up in the late afternoon.

While I'm here, I want to send out a SHOUT OUT and a HUGE THANK YOU to Amy&Dan. We met Amy & Dan last year when they were hear visiting relatives and we went and had breakfast with them at a great pancake house. We spent a couple of hours together and had a blast. Amy & Dan sent us a Mickey Mouse card today and a Disney gift card to enjoy a few drinks at Siesta's at the pool during our trip. We had bought breakfast and they said they'd buy the next time they came. Since they don't know when they will be back here in Chicago, they sent the sweet little surprise. Amy & Dan, thank you; it was totally unnecessary, but a very thoughtful gesture (and so typical of you guys) on your part. We will lift a toast to you while there and remember our time together and hope that one of these days we will actually be in Disney at the same time.

Kathy you are so welcome! That was such a fun morning (delish pancakes aside ;)), and when you guys bought our breakfast we were so appreciative and it was such a sweet gesture! One of these days, we'll be drinking with you at Siesta's! I'll buy a round, then you buy a round...

I would add One Man's Dream to your DHS can't miss, but of course its closed:mad:! I guess I"ll just have to say Voyage of the Little Mermaid because its a cute show and always so nice and cool in there!

For Part Two of your day, definitely the parade and fireworks. I love to sit on Main Street for the parade, they project these spotlight images on the buildings and its very cool. I can't believe we are actually skipping MNSSHP this year, not sure we'll actually not go!

Kathy-
I'll be back later to give my suggestions for MNSSHP. I have a ton of them for you.... some with pics! ;)

I have to bring Juliana to the library to return a movie and stop by Costco. Be back later! Hope you are having a great day!!!! :goodvibes

I wish I could give you tips for Mickey's Halloween party but we've never been fortunate enough to go during that time of year. Will you guys be going in costume?

Great advice, Michelle...thank you. I heard that Hallowishes was awesome. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks, Brook. I better get a second memory card for my camera.

We had such a good time with you last year. I'm sad we won't see each other this year. :sad2:

Yes, I could see us going back and forth buying each other drinks at Siesta's.

Yes, I am so upset One Man's Dream is closed.

We will definitely catch the parade.

Boy...that was a long trip to the library and Costco. Did you buy the store out? Seriously, I can't wait to see what pics you have to show me (although I could probably go look at your TR and find them myself too).

No, we're not going to dress up. I'm having a hard enough time trying to get Mark to dress up for a halloween party my girlfriend is having because he hates dressing up (it's a Disco themed party). I think Mark and I will just get pirate hats and wear those for the MNSSHP.

LOL you are funny!!!! Just haven't really been on here. Although my computer was on and I was logged in. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

OK.... the parade is a must!!!!!!! And be there a few minutes early to see the headless horseman!!!!

Hallowishes is a must! Although we had less than a bad view for them. I DLed halloWishes and we watch it on my iPod. ;)

The Villains show in front of the castle was good too. Then there is the meet & greet with the villains after the show. That was fun too.

Who knows.. maybe a little trick or treating? (oct.'08!)

You might luck out and have some light crowds since you are going at the end of September. You will be able to ride Dumbo at night! :goodvibes:goodvibes

I just checked in to say Hi and just caught the above pictures of the parade. It's getting me super psyched!!!!! Great party pics!

My top 3 things not to miss at MNSSHP would be:

1. The Boo to You Parade -- I love it!!! Sometimes I can even talk Joe into seeing it the first and the second time. :goodvibes

2. Hallowishes - it's amazing

3. Probably trick or treating - yes, Joe and I do it too! :lmao: It's fun to watch how excited all of the kids get

I can't wait for the party this year!
