Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

I really need to try the Plaza !!!

Rosie, you MUST! :)

Not much better than a baseball game on a summer day!

You are right. I can't think of a better way to spend a day.

LOL Sorry your team stinks. I blame Billy Goat & Steve Bartman! :lmao:

See, I blame the general manager and the owners for being cheap SOB's. Billy Goat? Maybe. Steve Bartman--absolutely NOT. That play would have never happened if we hadn't blown the play before and our pitcher didn't let it get in his head (but he ended up NOWHERE either...he hasn't played since the first part of the following year).

Hi Kathy,

Catching up!

CP seems like a great way to start the end your trip! :goodvibes

Cute dress and shoes!! :woohoo: great luck with the lottery tickets!! :woohoo:

I wish we explored downtown more when we lived in the Chicagoland area. Seems like a nice work party. The picture of the two of you turned out great!

Plaza is one of the places I am most looking forward to trying--the menu looks delish!

Looks like you had a great day :)

Bless Mark, looks like he had a little bit too much fun

Hooray for ballgames! Looks like you guys had a blast.

I wish I could make it to a Cardinal's game this year but I'm thinking it's not going to happen.

That's right, I said Cardinals! I know, Cardinals and Cubs fans never get along in their natural environment...but with our mutual love of Disney I think we'll be ok. Mickey makes everything ok! :rotfl:

Thank you, Stephanie. Downtown is beautiful (I'm just "tired" of it after 35 years of working down here). You will LOVE the Plaza.

Yes, Mark had just a "tad" too much fun.

What a great way to spend the day. :goodvibes It looks like everyone had a great time. :)

We had a blast, Sophia.

You are too funny! As much as I hate the Cardinals, I've never had an issue with Cardinal fans (certainly not like I do with White Sox fans). ;)
I think you and I will be okay because like you said, "Mickey makes everything ok!" ;)

Your last day at Disney looks great! And the Plaza sounds good, I've never even considered eating there, but maybe someday! :)

Love your pics from the Cubs game! I'm a Red Sox fan, but I can relate to the Cubs and their quest for a WS win and the stupid curses and everything. And my Nomar got traded there, which broke my heart. :sad1: Someday I want to go to Chicago to see a game...not the White Sox though...can't stand them. :rotfl:

You should definitely put the Plaza on your list to try -- it really is good.

I cheered for the Red Sox when they won the World Series! I LOVED Nomar and was sad when he left Chicago. Our oldest son, in 2008 (right after his grandfather died) went to New York to see Yankee stadium before they built the new one and then went to Boston to a game there (and, believe it or not, they were playing the White Sox and Andy, in true diehard Cub fashion, cheered for the Red Sox!).

Nice pictures...you had amazing seats!

We had great seats -- 7th row right behind the visitors dugout.

I'll try to do an update tomorrow. Tonight we are going out with our friends Shelley and Tom (they are our good friends who went with us for our 25th anniversary trip) and Sue and Louie (friends from our "bar days"). Tomorrow Markie's softball team is in the semi's and hopefully the championship game; but I should be able to get something up in the late afternoon.

While I'm here, I want to send out a SHOUT OUT and a HUGE THANK YOU to Amy&Dan. We met Amy & Dan last year when they were hear visiting relatives and we went and had breakfast with them at a great pancake house. We spent a couple of hours together and had a blast. Amy & Dan sent us a Mickey Mouse card today and a Disney gift card to enjoy a few drinks at Siesta's at the pool during our trip. We had bought breakfast and they said they'd buy the next time they came. Since they don't know when they will be back here in Chicago, they sent the sweet little surprise. Amy & Dan, thank you; it was totally unnecessary, but a very thoughtful gesture (and so typical of you guys) on your part. We will lift a toast to you while there and remember our time together and hope that one of these days we will actually be in Disney at the same time.

HI Kathy,

Just picking up here where you all are----- your day at the park looked like a great day of fun!!

I am doing the Plaza too; that Reuben is simply calling my name! :cloud9:

Liesa, you are going to LOVE The Plaza. And the Reuben's is Mark's favorite sandwich there.

Ok, all this Plaza talk is making me want to try it! I have one night open and we'll be at MK..guess what I'm gonna do? :rolleyes1

Cross your fingers that I get a ressie.......

Be still my heart. Me thinks this would be a perfect celebration after my surgery...after dinner, of course.:thumbsup2

(Congrats, Liesa!!! AWESOME!)

I can't think of anything better, Christine! :)

This is a drive by post... Hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi, Tim. Thanks for the "drive by." The weekend is good so far. Just got home from dinner and drinks with our best friends and had a really good time. Hope you are having a good weekend too. Saw you did a "bar" night the other night. How did that go?

Let us know if you get it, Sophia. I think you and Joe will enjoy it.

I'm going to go catch up on a few other subscribed threads and then hit the sack. Markie has a doubleheader tomorrow (well, one game for sure and if they win, then a second game for the championship). And it will be a slightly "emotional" day as well. It is the 2nd of anniversary when I lost my dad. This is for you Dad -- I love you and miss you. :littleangel:

Well, I'm not quite ready for an update. So I'm going to "borrow" from a few of the other threads that I'm following and post a question for each day of our Disney days. I am going to post the three things we "can't miss" and then I want you to add JUST ONE thing you think we should "not miss" at the park for that day.

Day One, Part One:

Disney Studios -- Toy Story Mania, Beauty & The Beast, Animation Studios (first time ever to draw a picture...and we hope it is NOT Stitch)

Poor Stitch! Juliana just watched Lilo & Stitch today. We had a really crummy day with rain all day. UGH! You'll be happy to know I am writing an update for my TR, although by the time I am done you will probably be sleeping. :3dglasses

Hummmm..... What about VOTLM? Have you seen that? It is a cute show.
