Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

your day 3 plans sound great:) I love breakfast at CP-- but i have never been to Kona for Breakfast but love Kona for dinner-- i think i might have to try it for breakfast-- the pics of the food look great!! Thats awesome what money Mark is bringing in for umping:) Also I have never tried the school bread in your picture-- does it tast like a donut with coconut on top? It looks good!!

I love all of Mark's hat pics! :rotfl:
Kona: Lovedddd the fruit platter...thought it was the best part of the meal!

Hi Kathy! I made it!!!
Better late than never!
I'm having fun living vicariously through you. Your plans sound great so far.:thumbsup2

Welcome! I'm so glad you are here; I've missed you.

Those pancakes are looking better and better every time I see them. ARe the nuts not in the batter?? If so, you'd be picking at your pancakes for a VERY long time!

Exactly why I don't understand why the pancakes are even called Macadamia Nut Pancakes - No Macadamia in the pancakes, just nuts on top. :confused3

Tonga Toast -yuck. Tried 'em once - waaaaaay too sweet. Did not like the mushy banana either. Don't get the popularity.:confused3
Yeah for those who enjoy.:thumbsup2

Even on top, they will leave that taste. I think I'll go with the omelet. ;)

Wow Kathy, $1000 is some serious money for WDW!:thumbsup2

Yes, and we still have six weeks to go. The first $1000 paid off part of the trip (the Disney portion and part of the rental car). Now, if we don't get a lot of rain, we can pay off the rental car, buy party tickets, food for the condo and have spending money for Disney and Marco Island.

I like Tonga Toast...my stomach doesn't. It's so incredibly heavy. And in the hot FL sun? Not a great feeling. Last time I got the fruit platter and just stole a bite of my boyfriend's Tonga Toast. Worked out great! (...well, for me anyway!)

That worked out great for you! :)

School bread tastes like a sweet bread with coconut on top (not a donut) per my husband.

I love all of Mark's hat pics! :rotfl:

I think we'll order the fruit platter as well and take the rest to the parks with us that we don't finish to nibble on during the day.

Everything OK? How's your week going??

Hi, Liesa. Feeling all better, just been super busy at work (it's always like this before a three day weekend). I have to go get my nails done tonight so don't know if I can do an update; maybe tomorrow night for sure. And, since I don't think I'll get the update tonight, I'll post a "pic" to tie you all over.

Glad to hear you are feeling better :goodvibes

Loving the pic

Thank you for tiding me over with such utter nonsensical, unadulterated FUN!!!

3 day weekend yet???

What kind of fun plans do you have?

Ohhh! That sounds like a great idea!!
BTW...things are going great....so much better than I expected AND I am waiting to hear back from a college in the area so I can return to school this fall! :lovestruc

Kathy, if you keep posting picsl like that we'll not need an update - those hats could hold us over for a long time! :thumbsup2

So glad you are feeling better. Any nice plans for the long weekend? I am so excited -this is the first 3 day weekend we've had in forever. DD doesn't get many federal holidays - that's the way it is working in the travel industry. Good reason why I never did - who knew it would effect me once I was old as dirt? :rotfl:

Hope it's a good day! :goodvibes

Just stopping by to say hi -- it's been too long since I've been on the boards.

You PTR sounds great ... althought I have to admit I skimmed A LOT. I have to go back and really read it.

Kona Cafe - I had breakfast there 2 years ago and had the Tonga Toast, it was sweet, but good. Probably will order something else thought, should I return!

LOVE the hats - I always enjoy reading/looking at your PTR/TR, 'cause I know I will see Mark in the hat parade:) You have a great way of telling your story.

Catch up with you later.

Hey Kathy, glad you are feeling better. Hope your long weekend is going along nicely!

Dan loves the pictures of Mark's hats as much as I do!

Thanks; I'm so glad to be over the illness -- I hate being sick.

Anytime for you, Liesa. No...we've not done anything special. Mark umpped four games yesterday, three today and has three more tomorrow. I did laundry all day yesterday; went for a massage this morning (gift from Andy for Mother's Day) and laid out in the yar; tomorrow, I'm going to clean house.

What have you been doing over the weekend?

Ohhh! That sounds like a great idea!!

As I said above, no special plans. Watching the Hawks again tomorrow night and hoping to go up on the Flyers by 2 games to none. :worship:

Hi, Amy. Thanks...feeling much better. Weekend is quiet...which is fine. Andy's at dinner with Nicole (that's moving along nicely ;)).

Hi, Kathy. Thanks for coming over--I appreciate it. I'm just off to bed (too much sun today), but promise to read about your "super-secret-surprise" first thing in the morning.

Also, I hope to have an update up tomorrow as well.

Kathy, I just tried to subscribe to your pre-trippie before I went to bed, and it pulls up a thread about the POR. Did you give me the wrong link? Can you post again?

Hmmm... that's odd! It must be getting late! Try this:

Nite-nite!

p.s. Why is Mark called "Grumpy?" He looks extremely "Happy" in all his pix!

Hey Kathy! Good morning! (HA! for me!) I'm just getting my AM coffee, and dealing with the usual of life's challenges (ie... delayed visas, my son needing to find a place to sleep until we get there, etc...) Always fun stuff.

Mark sure umps a LOT!!! It is just seasonal though, right??

Hi, Kathy! Sounds like you're having a productive weekend. Wish I could say the same, but spending a week with thirty-five eighth graders has left me exhausted and whatever energy I've got is going to my own little guy!

Enjoy the extra day tomorrow! Looking forward to your next update. Just curious: how old were your boys the first time you took them to Disney?

Great, I'll try the new link and head over there after I do my next update. Mark is called Grumpy because he owns a dozen Grump shirts and his kids tell him he is Grumpy all the time. Truthfully, he has his "grumpy" moments, but overall is the most laidback, happy person I know.

Hi, Liesa. I had my morning coffee and then proceeded to clean the entire house which I had not done last week because I was sick. I feel better now that it is at least semi-clean (I swear no matter how well I clean I find something wrong 30 minutes later -- has to do with living with three men! :rotfl:

Mark does a lot of umpping during the spring/summer. Last season he made about $5000. He won't make that much this year because he won't be able to ump after July 5 because he has a trade show at work and then his surgery is scheduled for July 14. That's why he's putting in for extra games now to make up some of the games he'll miss.

Any luck on finding your son somewhere to sleep? What about the visas?

Tina, both of our boys were 18 months old when we first took them to Disney. And both of them remember little bits of the trip (it helps that we videotaped a lot of it). Next update coming up soon...working on searching for the pictures right now.

This is a great pic as I sit here this Memorial Day, drinking my coffee, trying to catch up! :thumbsup2

I didn't even think of that photo and Memorial Day when I posted. It is a great picture for the day. :)

Well, when I last updated, we were finishing visiting Norway and headed to China on Day 3. We will stop here

and, if lucky, we will be able to hear this man as we did last year (he was very talented). We listened to him while we waited for the next showing of Reflections of China -- probably my favorite of the four films.

Then, of course, we have to stop here and do this (a tradition):

IMG_2469.jpg

So from here, we arrive in Germany -- one of our favorite countries because both Mark and I have German blood in us (Mark worked in a German restaurant for many years late in grammar school and then in high school). Although no major attractions here, we do spend a lot of time going through the shops, having a bratwurst and a beer (or two!).

Mark loves the train in Germany and could spend an hour here looking at the details and watching the train go around the track:

And I found this in Germany last year as well:

Up next, Italy, American Adventure, etc. Not sure if I'll do more tonight or not -- I'm watching my Blackhawks in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup and we are up 2-0 with one period to go.
