Grumpy and his wife and possibly the DIS Food Porn Queen are going to Disney

Okay, when I last left you, we were doing EMH at the MK on Sunday night (September 19) and debating if we are going to do the Halloween Party. Well, since we've not decided on the party as of yet and probably won't for a while yet, I'm going to continue our PTR based on plans without going to the party (but I'm really hoping that everything is going to change and we will do the party).

Mark's umpping his fourth game of the day, so I've got a little time until he gets home to go grab fast food and go grocery shopping before he does four more games tomorrow (we're talking about $582 since Thursday night in umpping money for our trip :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:).

Okay, so it is now Monday, September 20 and where are Grumpy and his wife going to breakfast. We had planned this ADR last year and then cancelled at the last minute when I was able to get an 8:05 a.m. ADR at Crystal Palace (and I NEVER miss Crystal Palace for breakfast). So I promised Mark that the first ADR I would try to make for this trip was this one because he has been wanting to go for awhile and then he saw Tim's (that's nice) pictures of his breakfast and there was no turning back. Drum roll, please. We will be going to:

(Tim, I borrowed two of your pics...I didn't think you'd mind).

Mark is dying to try this:

Yep, that would be the BIG KAHUNA! My hubby LOVES his breakfast food and this is perfect for him. I'm not sure what I'll order as of yet. I know everyone keeps telling me I should try the Tonga Toast but I HATE and I mean HATE bananas (I had to eat one each day I was pregnant with Markie and I can't stand the smell of them anymore; I have to turn my head when making banana bread which my kids and hubby love). I'll play my order by ear until we get there. But I am looking forward to the pressed coffee for sure.

After breakfast, we will head over for our last visit to Epcot on this trip.

I think we'll probably start out in World Showcase on the opposite side from where we started previously on this trip. That would have us starting at Mexico:

Hopefully, we'll run into this guy again:

And, of course, we'll have to stop for a "hat" picture:

Then it is off to Norway and the boat ride and movie (we always stay for the movie; we've seen it so many times, but I always feel bad because so many people just walk through and don't sit for it and it's not a bad movie and it's only about seven minutes long).

We'll then have to do this:

I'm sure Mark will want to stop for this as he really enjoyed it last year (not me--don't do coconut--nope nope nope):

School bread

Up next will be China.

I've had two breakfast ADRs @ Kona in the past and cancelled them both - one day I will try it! I don't think I'll be getting the Tonga Toast though, not because I don't like bananas, but because I'm afraid it will be too rich and sweet for me.

Love your silly hat pics!

We also had breakfast ADRs at Kona this past trip and didn't make it. :sad2:
I am still dying to try it, but would also consider going for lunch or dinner, as my husband and I aren't big breakfast people.

Hope that you and Mark are both feeling better and are able to enjoy at least part of the weekend. :goodvibes

Oh wow those breakfasts look awesome, love the look of the fruit platter :)

Again, I had some catching up to do, I tell you a couple of days away from the Dis and you miss all sorts.

First off let me start by saying:

Secondly, sorry to hear that you are both unwell, I hope you are feeling better now though

and thirdly, Kona breakfast for Day 3 sounds fab, always a good thing to start your day with a Kona breakfast :teeth: and the rest of the day sounds like it will be lots of fun too in Epcot, lots of places to try lots of different hats :goodvibes

I'll respond to everyone later and hope to do an update tonight as well. But for now I just have to say:

BLACKHAWKS SWEEP AND ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

:dance3::dance3::dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Happy Anniversary, belatedly I know but I have not been on DIS much the last few weeks.

I don't do coconut either--glad to know I am not alone in knowing I will not be eating the school bread that everyone seems to rave about here on DIS.

Every one of those breakfast entrees at Kona looks so good. I've heard the macadamia nut pancakes are to die for. I definitely need to eat there one of this days. I keep saying I am going to go and yet I never seem to get there. If add a few solo days to this next trip, I am soooooooo there.

:thumbsup2 for extra trip money from umping!

The macadamia nut pancakes are to die for! I can taste them now.........

Happy Belated Anniversary Kathy!

I don't like bannanas either, but I did like the Tonga Toast. Go figure! Although I sort of scooped out a lot of the bannana!

That is great Mark is making extra money for Disney.

I have a very nice Waffle House right near me, come see me sometime and I'll take you there! I still owe you a breakfast you know.

Love the pics they keep me sane.

And keep your fingers crossed, we are really hoping we can swing a trip this October if they extend free dining or a good room discount. Until then, I have your trip report to keep me going!

I can't believe that I didn't post a "Happy Anniversary". Bad, bad Dis sister, I am.:sad2:

We aren't big breakfast eaters but those pics of the Kona breakfast look so yummy. I am sure there will be plenty of things for you to eat without you ever having to look at a banana.

Sounds like you've got a good plan started for your Epcot day.

Oh, and I almost forgot.....:woohoo: for the extra moolah Mark is making for umping.

I've heard they are very sweet. Thanks...Mark loves his hats.

Mark umpped all weekend, but both of us are feeling much better today.

Other options for Kona breakfast...

Fruit Platter:

Omlette:

Or Pancakes (Macadamia Nut)

I'm liking the looks of that omelet. :)

Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We went out for a quick dinner at Chili's last night to celebrate the Hawks victory and our anniversary (we'll do something nicer while in Florida).

Thanks for the anniveresary wishes; I definitely did not like the school bread--even after scraping off the coconut.

Exactly what I"m getting- they look heavenly from the pix I've seen! :cloud9:

See, I'd have to scrape the nuts off the pancackes because I don't like nuts. I often asked why my youngest was so "picky" about his food--he must get it from his mom. ;)

Thanks, Amy for the anniversary greetings. I will keep my fingers crossed for you guys that you can go back in October.

Lisa, you are NOT a bad Dis sister at all. You've had an awful lot on your plate with your mom and Hunter's birthday and getting ready for your trip (which if I remember correctly you are leaving on Thursday, the 27th, for).

Definitely a BIG :woohoo: for the extra money Mark brought in. He's up to $1000 so far since the season started with the rest of this month, all of June and the first two weeks of July before his surgery. :worship:

Hi Kathy! I made it!!!
Better late than never!
I'm having fun living vicariously through you. Your plans sound great so far.:thumbsup2

Those pancakes are looking better and better every time I see them. ARe the nuts not in the batter?? If so, you'd be picking at your pancakes for a VERY long time!

Exactly why I don't understand why the pancakes are even called Macadamia Nut Pancakes - No Macadamia in the pancakes, just nuts on top. :confused3

Tonga Toast -yuck. Tried 'em once - waaaaaay too sweet. Did not like the mushy banana either. Don't get the popularity.:confused3
Yeah for those who enjoy.:thumbsup2

OK, thanks for that clarification! I know what to expect better. I think I'd like the nuts to be in there, but on top sounds yummy too.

Nope, no tonga for this girl. Ewww!

I like Tonga Toast...my stomach doesn't. It's so incredibly heavy. And in the hot FL sun? Not a great feeling. Last time I got the fruit platter and just stole a bite of my boyfriend's Tonga Toast. Worked out great! (...well, for me anyway!)
