well, after lurking on the boards for a long time I finally decided to write a pre trip report.
So, first things first.........let me introduce the travellers..........
DH - AKA Grumpy (37) - Married for 5 years and I love him to bits!!!! He has 'earned' the nickname Grumpy due to his inability to get excited about ANYTHING.
Seriously.
I am NOT kidding
He could win a prize for hiding his excitment from the world
Its a shame really as he LOVES LOVES LOVES Disney World and our magical trips together- he is just old school and reserved about jumping around and singing 'It's a small world' -where as I am not
Me - AKA Caz AKA ArielRocks - because she does! (27) - long suffering wife to Grumpy! First visited WDW when I was 16 and have never looked back! I took Grumpy on his first trip to WDW and he caught the Disney bug BAD!! I don't mind that Grumpy is incapable of getting excited about things as I get MORE then excited for the 2 of us
Together we are MASSIVE disney lovers - films, artwork, parks, you name it - we love it!
We have been to Orlando 9 times, we even got married there 5 years ago! We normally visit with friends and family, but this year we decided we wanted to go ALONE.
thats right folks - we can get up when WE want to
We can eat and drink what WE want
AND BEST OF ALL WE CAN STAY ONSITE WITHOUT WORRYING WHETHER EVERYONE ELSE CAN AFFORD TO
We last went to WDW xmas 07 - as soon as we returned we decided we would book a trip for just the two of us to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary!
Together we have had a ROUGH 2 years.
We both lost our fathers, Grumpy's had Cancer, mine died of a sudden Heart Attack 11 months later. This was truly an awful time for both of us and I am thankful that we had each other to get through such a tough time
We also moved house 3 times, our dog was almost paralised is a terrible accident and Grumpy started a new job!
See what I mean - that is a whole heap of stuff for a couple to cope with over 24 months!!!!!
So we decided some Disney Magic and Quality time together was needed - and of course, the only way that this was possible was for us to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Boardwalk
We are leaving London 14th Sept - staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for 1 week, then are transferring to The Boardwalk
It will be our 1st time on property and we can't wait (although Grumpy is hiding this well)
More to follow soon including how I have been planning and packing for 6 months already and what we have booked for our trip
