GRR at people who take advantage of seniors!!!

My mom just got a quote to have a fence installed. she just wants a 4 foot chain link fence with gates at either side. Keep in mind this is JUST for the sides of her house 8 feet on one side and about 18 feet on the other ( it has to come out a ways to meet her house)
the guy said " well with your senior discount it will be $847!!!!!!!!

How can this guy live with himself???

I priced it out to do it myself last summer and the materials cost $120. total including the gates and all hardware!!

It wouldnt take this guy more than a few hours to do ( I have installed this type fence before) She just wanted to get a bid from someone else because she didnt want to bother me well guess what IM BOTHERED!!!!!

Guess Ill be making a trip to moms soon to install some fence. Not that I mind at all I love doing things for her but Im just fried tha someone would try to take advantage of her like that!!!!

That is really a shame that there are those to take advantage of seniors...your mom is lucky to have you looking out for her!

Don't get mad get even

Call the same guys and give them the measurements and see what they would charge you w/o a "senior discount" and if it lower report them to the proper authorities. There are laws against price gouging.

Also try a differnt company and see what the difference is. ]

ok just got another email from my mom this guy didnt even listen to what she wanted he just measured one side of the house didnt realize that he would have to put extra fencing from the neighbours fence up to my moms house.

She said in his breakdown that he sent her today he charges $50 an hour for labour and estimated it would him 9HOURS to do!!!!

Mom said " maybe you ought to go into the fence business!" At leats she is smart enough to know better!
