Last evening DS and I were going over our July trip plans for the 800th time, and DS says we should go to a 'grown-up' restaurant for one of the nights we're there. (He's a good DS!) We'll be (probably) in the MK area our last night, and would maybe want to leave the park and come back via monorail for dinner. Any ideas? I was thinking about one of the boardwalk restaurants (if I can get a grown-up dinner out of this, I want it to be a good one)! Also, do the restaurants like Flying Fish have kid's menus?

Thank you!

Well the restaurants you are talking about are over by EC not in the MK area. For those I would suggest one of the following,
Narcoossees, Cal Grill, Citricos, or Artist Point. You might want to check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm.

babybunrab - we did Flying Fish in Feb '03 w/DS (then 2yo). DS is unusually well behaved and that night was no exception (thank God :D). Yes, they have a children's menu. Also, the waiter brought my son a small toy to play with and let him keep it at the end of the evening. Another waitress kept stopping by & "flirting" with my son. We had a great time & the food was excellent!

Thank you Grumpy and Cinjam. I've combined your suggestions and looked up Flying Fish on the link from Cinjam. That's what we're going to do, I think. Can I take the monorail from MK to Epcot, and then walk through Epcot to the Boardwalk? I know it's a long way, but we're pretty good walkers...

I think Callifornia Grill would be just right. It was DS's request for this trip. Just a monorail ride away and very friendly to kids. It you could time it with the fire works even better.

You will need to take the monorail to TTC then switch to the EC monorial or you could just take the BW bus from the MK gate.

Flying Fish is a very good restaurant.

Ah-ha! I forgot about the BW bus. Thank you, Grumpy, and thanks to everyone else who answered. I think we're going with the Flying Fish (I hear the crab cakes are excellent...)
