So we are going school shopping this morning and I bought a Groupon coupon not really knowing how it works... apparently 29 more people need to buy this coupon in order for me to actually get it...

Good thing it is a good one so hopefully people will be purchasing soon so I can actually use it!

Groupon will charge you $20 for the coupon once you "get" the deal. Print the Groupon and take it with you, and it is treated like a gift certificate for the $40.

I ended up canceling my order... we are leaving in about 1/2 hour and I don't expect that many people to purchase since only about 2 have in the past 1/2. Oh well... I made sure to print out plenty of other coupons

In my experience the Groupon Deals normally do get their minimum. It is really early in the day to be canceling out. If a Groupon Deal fails to get its minimum your deal is automatically canceled.

That particular deal is not in a city near me. In your city, that deal needs 50 and already has 22. It is going to make it. Most people haven't even had their morning cup of coffee in Portland, ME yet. You can help spread the word for those kind of deals by doing a Facebook share at the bottom so it appears on your wall and friends' walls.

Also, just FYI, you wouldn't have gotten your groupon certificate today anyways, if the deal is going on today. It is usually the next day or the day after the buying time ends!

I larned the hard way that you cannot use the groupons immediately like on restaurant.com

Last week they had one for 1/2 price admission to waterpark I had plans to go to that day so I bought 3. But when I went to print them out they said I could not use it that day (lucky for my kids they now get to go twice, LOL)

Plenty of us up and about in these parts, lol. The particularly odd thing about this Groupon though is we don't have that store here. you'd need to drive 2 hours to Boston to use it.

For a while I lived in Rhode Island and quickly learned how regional things are in the area. That deal actually still has 2 and half days left. It will make it.

There actually is a Groupon Now feature if you have the App on your iPhone or iPad. It is for things you have to use in the next few hours. Neat thing about some of these deals is that if you don't use one for example, by 5:00 PM it is automatically refunded.

Last week one day, I was in Atlanta. A friend and I were questioning where to eat. I popped on the App took advantage of a 1/2 off deal and we went to eat. Worked out perfectly for a lunch special. We also found a new restaurant that we like.

There is an Iphone app called grouponbot and it will show you all the NATIONAL deals on Groupon. 77 kids was one of the national deals, so if you had this app, you could have clicked on "Portland" or wherever else had that deal and buy from a group that had already had enough purchased to get the deal.

Pulled up on the phone. It had a scan on it. However, I have sent things to print from my phone to my work email before.
