Group ticket question

So my husband has a convention at Disney in early July and they are offering discounted tickets. What we are wanting to do is see if he can buy them and then we could all use them later that month, NOT for the convention since we aren't attending. I don't see anywhere on the page where they are tied to a specific date or have any specific strings attached but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. TIA!

The convention/special event discount tickets I’ve seen had dates on them. For example, the ones from RunDisney were usable about one week before through one week after the race weekend.
I would ask before buying.

If they are traditional convention tickets (not runDisney as mentioned above), they should have an expiration of Dec. 31, 2018.
