Does anyone have any comments on this hotel good or bad? I was able to get it for $69 a night and just wanted to make sure I was actually getting a deal. We will be staying there the last week of July. Thanks.

My family & I stayed at the Grosvenor & I can honestly say that it was, by far, the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The room was filthy and the staff was rude & unhelpful.

We had a "tower" room and ended up leaving early on a prepaid reservation.

Your $69 a night would be much better spent at the Hotel Royal Plaza on the Mousesaver's deal if it's still available. If it's not, try priceline....For $60 a night, you can get the Hilton which is much much nicer. We received the Dolphin on Priceline for $69 a night for July 23 - 26th.....

I Hope This Helps!

We on the other hand stayed at the Grovsenor about a year ago and were able to get a Tower Room even though we used Priceline. We enjoyed it and thought everyone was nice. The location cant be beat

I have been in the hotel and it is very nice.
We had a nice character breakfast in Baskervilles and then we strolled around the hotel and thought it was pretty with traditional furnishings and decor. We did not stay there or see the rooms but our impression of it was positive. I would love to stay there for $69.

I have never personal stayed there but my mother and a friend of her's have stayed there the past two years and she love it. I'm going with her this year so we are staying at a moderated POFQ. She loved the walk to Down Town Disney.

I agree with the first person. Plan and simple NASTY. I hated it. I paid $50 on priceline and was so sorry. I've gotton great rooms and hotels before on priceline and then Grovesnor. I'm afraid to try priceline again, becasue what if I get Grovesnor AGAIN.

People argued outside screaming at each other for over an hour. A call to security didn't help.

I thought the hotel was extremely dirty.

Break the ressie if you can. If not, you'll know what I mean when You arrive

Good Luck

One of my friends stayed here last year and said the rooms were disgusting. They ended up checking out and going to the Vistana Villages for the rest of their vacation. She said the lobby is beautiful but the rest is nasty. The staff was also very unsympathetic to her complaints of the condition of the room.

We stayed at the Grosvenor last September and will not be staying there again. We did have a good rate and the location to downtown disney was great, but that is where the good ends. The room we stayed in was very dated and when we walked out the door we overlooked the garbage dumpster. Nice smell to start the day!!! Everytime we go past the Grosvenor my husband will comment on horrible that place was and how he will never stay there again. I would recommend paying a little more and staying some where else.

we've never stayed there, but did their "mystery dinner".
the show itself was very good: excellent cast, a lot of fun. the buffet was ok, service inattentive to outright rude, but the reason we'll never, ever return..............
the dessert table had insects crawling/flying all over it ~ YUK!!
when we pointed "them" out (like so many bugs could be missed  ), the waitstaff just shrugged their shoulders.

we'll never again set foot in that resort for ANY reason.

Thanks for all the input. I will definitely be checking at some different hotels. Maybe we'll just go back to our old standby CBR!

Hello! I am staying there with my boyfriend this month from the 22nd-29th. I already called and asked if I could upgrade to a tower room because of what I've heard about the hotel but they're all booked up. I've heard bad things and good things - mostly that the lobby is very nice but the rooms are very dirty. Maybe they just have lazy maids lol. I plan on "reporting" back about my experience there as soon as I get back. Hopefully it's not too too too unbearable, lol

And dont stay at the Holiday Inn next door either....

Use to Be Marriott......

I got the Grosvenor for $40 on priceline. I've heard good and bad. I called to see what type of room we have and it's a courtyard room and she made a note to upgrade us to a tower room if one becomes available. I don't expect the hilton for $40 a night, we don't plan on being there long and for $40 a night, I couldn't get a roach motel, so for a halfway decent hotel on disney property, I'm willing to take a chance. We'll only be there for 2 nights.

People love or hate this motel. We have stayed in both room types and cannot endorse anyone staying here. Overall an overlypriced room. The bus transportation was good, but the Grosvenor itself was a pit.

Thanks again for the info, I went ahead and cancelled that and was able to get the Best Western Lake Buena Vista for $70! These boards sure are helpful!

Having stayed at this resort 14 yrs ago, I had no concerns reserving a 5 night stay for after we take the Disney Magic cruise. I noticed a lot of " negative" comments on this resort and of course became concerned that we reserved a resort that has gone " down the tubes".

So Monday morning I called the hotel and spoke for quite a while with the manager of the hotel and listed my concerns. It is fair to say that we will are still planning on staying at this hotel after our cruise. The guests who had problems with the staff or the hotels cleanliness should by pass the staff and go right to the top management. No resort wants to have bad things written about them, and by going to the top the managers can get on top of a situation, be it a rude staff member or a health issue..

Bye, Kim
