I'm trying to decide on a rental car vs. towncar for our Sept. trip. If I decide on a towncar, I'd like to make a grocery stop for water, snacks, etc. My problem is that we won't be landing at MCO until 9:30 PM. How late are the stores open in the Disney area??

Thanks!

Most are 24 hours a day.

Thanks, Gail! Generally, which stores do the towncars stop at? It will only be DH and I this time, so I really only need to get water and a couple snack items....

Thanks,
Sammy

We flew in around 9:30 last January, and were told by Cartier they wouldn't make a stop that late.

Get it in writing if they say they will stop that late.

We are travelling (also without our kids!) in September, and after crunching the numbers, we are renting a car for one day. We arrive at 10 pm, so I'll go food shopping that night, souvie shopping the next day (Belz), and return the car at the S/D within 24 hours. This is costing me a total of $34, and with the car return at S/D we can just hoof it (or cab) back to BWV pretty easily.

Going back to the airport, picking up a car at S/D pushes the price around $60, so we'll just catch a cab if I can't get that price lower.

This way: $34 from airport, $40+ to airport = $75 - 80.
Rental car: $130 lowest I could find so far.
Towncar: $90 plus tip = $100.

Less convenient than the more expensive options, maybe, but without my 3 kids in tow, I don't mind a little hassle.

Just a thought for you.

Thanks, Patti! I am actually leaning towards renting a car for the 4-day stay. I can get an intermediate through National for $91.xx with all fees and taxes (AMEX code). That is the same for a towncar without tips, and we can stop at our leisure on the way into BCV or even the next morning.

Looks like we're just going to miss each other in September!! We arrive at BCV on the 23rd and leave on the 27th....just a quick trip to celebrate our Anniversary!
