Hi! We are only staying at the parks a few days and then going on a cruise. Packing some breakfast and snack food along. Using Disney transportation, so wondering if anyone has been to the Hess food market by downtown disney?
Am specifically wanting:
- cheap styro cooler that I can leave behind so don't want to pay much for it
- milk
- diet Mountain Dew!! (Or do they only sell coke there?)

Also, has anyone ever packed soda pop in their checked luggage? Will it work out ok?

THANKS!!!!

I have heard that they do have the coolers and of course milk but no Dew. Its still on property so no Pepsi products.

Maybe Dr Pepper but that's an odd duck when comes to where to find it.

The Hessexpress (.com) website has a picture of Coca Cola, Mountain Dew and Dr Pepper fountain drinks for sale at 69 cents, any size. I do not believe that Hess is, in any way, affiliated with Disney to the point that Disney would control what they sell. If you go to their website, they have a place for you to contact them via email (and other options.) You could certainly ask them directly what they stock. :-)

Its been posted many times that there is no Dew anywhere on property even the Hess stations. It gets asked a lot by other Dew addicts. :drinking1

First time trying search on the new boards.

Well, I don't know what is available now. The post you linked to is from 1999 and I know that the Hess station across from Boardwalk recently was closed for a month or so while they did 'something' to it. I believe they are in the midst of being bought out by Speedway, so it is possible that they now carry Mountain Dew. It is also possible that they don't and that their advertising is misleading. I shan't be there until October so OP? You should check for us and post back here. :-) LOL.

You might also post in the Resorts forum to ask if anyone who is currently there would check for you.

Yea after I posted I saw the date so I figured out how to only for search for a more current thread and added it to the post.

Even with the change of name I give it only a .00000001% chance that they will sell Pepsi. :drinking1

Coke almost pays Disney to only carry Coke Products by anyone on property. Its one way they hold onto to their "Number one selling soft drink in the world" title. I have read that WDW gets the syrup for free and pay very low wholesale prices for the bottled products.

All of the WDW resorts sell milk in containers at their QS restaurant area. Some have larger containers (especially deluxe resorts with DVC), too.

Are you going on a Disney cruise ?

If so, for the cruise:

Beverages need to be in your carry-on bag'; they don't allow them in your checked luggage.

I have successfully packed bottled ginger ale in carry-on on both our DCL cruises; it is heavy, but aside from that was fine. I recommend letting the bottles sit for a while before trying to open one, though, as they will have gotten shaken up.

Perishables are not permitted. Un-opened shelf-stable milk may be ok, but refrigerated milk is perishable; you would need to check with Disney on whether they allow it. Note that Cabanas/equivalent on the classic ships have small milk boxes at breakfast.

"Coolers (no larger than 12" x 12" x 12") are only permitted as carry-on for Guests storing medications, baby food or items related to dietary constraints." See DCL FAQ: https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/...plans/faqs/preparing-for-your-cruise/coolers/

Here is a link from 2011 that will give you an idea what the Hess station by the BWV carries

Also if you are staying at Disney resort you can order pop and water from Amazon Prime Pantry and have it delivered. I just ordered drinks and snack items to be delivered for my trip next week. Called the resort and they confirmed that they had received my box. Now it you are staying at a WDW convention resort there is an additional handling fee which I believe is around $13.00. So it would not be cost effective.
