We will be staying off site with 2 other families. In total we will have 6 adults and 4 children. We have a full kitchen and want to have food to eat there to help defer the cost. The problem is that we are all planning on going our own way so there is no plans to meet back at the condo and eat at a certain time. I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE THAT KIND OF PLAN. Does anyone have any suggestions on what kinds of things we should purchase? Breakfast foods are a given as well as snacks.

I am also being realisitc. I know that we will eat in WDW often and I do not want to waste a bunch of money on foods that we will have to throw out or haul back home at the end of the week.

HELP!

How about crock pot food? You could leave it on low all day and it is ready when you come back.

We always bring things that lend themselves to reheating and let all the kids fend for themselves. We sometimes spend an afternoon cooking several things and have them in the fridge for the week.

We buy the Stouffers 96 oz frozen lasagna (really quite tasty). All you need is salad stuff and bread for a great dinner and leftovers.

We make beef for tacos and nachos. We bake some boneless chicken breast. During one recent trip we found a Sams and bought lots of frozen items that were easy to heat up quickly such as pizza rolls, popcorn chicken, mini-quiches, etc.

Great Idea!!

I just needed some advice to get on the right track. I do not know how much we will actually eat at the condo, but I want to make sure there is food there. Thanks so much!

The crock pot is a great idea as well. I think I will pack mine!

Think quick and easy. What do your kids love that you don't like them to eat alot of? The kids will think it is a treat and you will save money by eating in. Think convenience foods. If it is quick and easy to make you are more likely to prepare it. Don't plan anything labor intensive, after all you are on vacation

Ideas:
Easy Mac
Spaghetti O's
Pop Tarts
Granola Bars
String Cheese
Deli Meats
Bread
Chips & Dip
Bagels
Hot Dogs
Fresh Fruit - great for a grab n go breakfast on the way to the park.
Bottled Water
Cokes
Milk
Microwave popcorn

Will you have access to BBQ grill? how about griling chicken breasts, or have a steak night. Steak in the park can be VERY expensive

It also sounds like alot of people for a condo. if you are driving in you may want to consider bringing some plastic plates and cups so you aren't doing dishes. Even if you have a dishwasher there is still some effort! Being able to just throw away the mess is soo much easier.

I like the Freshetta frozen pizza as well.

Buy snacks in individual serving size so you can stick one in your pocket and bring to the park. I had individual packs of peanuts which were just the right size for a mid morning snack. Since I had a protein snack I could wait till late in the afternoon before needing to eat lunch. the crowds at restaurants were much smaller in the late afternoon.

I think I am going brain dead tring to think of all the details. I do not want to leave anything out. We will have a microwave.
The list was great! I had not thought of any of that stuff. Keep the ideas coming!

Two of the adults will only be there for 3 nights before moving into their own 1 bedroom condo. The 3 nights we will be sharing a 3 br. Two of the children are mine. One is 41/2 the other is 11 months. The four year old gets to sleep in a tent in the living room with his four year old cousin. It will be cramped, but once the grandparents leave we will have a "Kids" room. The Grandparents are paying for lodging so we will be cramped and happy about it!
