Has anyone ever used a grocery delivery service at their hotel at Disneyland? We are going to be staying at the HOJO and would like to have our groceries delivered if possible.

Thank you all for your help! ;)

Hello!

I know that a lot of our guests have had groceries delivered to them. As long as you get them delivered to you when you're already In-House [and you make sure that they have the lead passenger's last name on the delivery, so that we can find you!], there's no problem at all!

If you are planning on having them delivered prior to your arrival, please make sure that we have not only your last name, but also your arrival date. And please keep in mind that we don't have anywhere to store items that are temperature sensitive [milk, yogurt, ice cream, deli meat, etc.].

I hope this helps! We look forward to seeing you soon! :goodvibes

Oh, I hadn't even considered this option. Are there any groceru stores people here would recommend?

We did this last year and it worked great. We were at the Candy Cane Inn. The only hard part was figuring out which 2 hour window we were willing to commit to staying in the hotel room. I think we used www dot vons dot com. Albertsons dot com is also an optoin I think but I think their delivery windows were longer.

you can also find coupons for free delivery through Google. I placed my entire order before we even left. :cool1:

We had albertsons deliver to DLH in January. We chose them due to the delivery windows being only 1.5 hours vs. 2 hours and for some reason we could not get delivery on Sunday after 4 p.m. through Vons. We placed the order I believe two weeks before via online. It worked great!!!!! Saved money on drinks and snacks in the park. If we would of had a microwave we would have purchased more. We definitely will do this again in the future.

We ordered groceries from Von's last September and had them delivered to the Anaheim Desert Inn. It was great! We will be having groceries delivered every time we go from now on. We saved a bundle alone on just water.

We are big Dr. Pepper drinkers so we stocked up on those since you can't get them at the park. We order in supper most nights so we stocked up on plates, paper towels and plasticware for that. We ordered diaper wipes and other bulky things we needed but did not want taking up space in our luggage. We also ordered coffee, juice, milk, breakfast items, fruits and other assorted snacks.

We always take a midday break so we just made sure to schedule delivery during that time. The delivery guy was super nice. He never even balked at having to go up 3 flights of stairs with our big order.

This is also a great way to get some of the items you may not want to hassle with bringing on the flight, like toiletires. You can also use coupons at Albertsons.com, I don't know about the other service. I haven't used delivery to DL before (because we drive :rotfl: ) but we do in WDW, and it's great. I'll be placing an order this November when we fly down instead of driving. Let me know how it goes! :goodvibes

If you decide to order thru Albertsons, apply for the savings card they offer, you can use that to save alittle bit extra when ordering. We have ordered Albertsons the last 2 times we have went to DL and it worked out wonderful. We saved a lot of money on bottled water and snacks for the park. They showed up for delivery right on time. We also ordered stuff to snack on at the hotel and some adult beverages with out a hitch. :thumbsup2

AHHHH!!!! I hadn't heard this yet, thanks for the warning. Do they serve Pepsi or coke? We will be sure to have a nice supply of Dr. Pepper when we arrive!!!

What's customary tip for delivery guys?

None of them are supposed to take tips actually, it's a company thing. Albertsons is the same way. Occasionally though if you do offer them a tip they will take it.

They serve coke. They do offer Mr Pibb which is an okay substitute for the kids but I drink diet. A few days of diet coke is too much for me so ordering from Von's was a life saver.

Our driver also said he could not take tips. I just "made" him. Kinda like the wait staff at DL. They are not supposed to take tips but I think it's okay if you offer it like 3 times. (someone correct me if I am wrong)

And with Vons (AKA Safeway), any online order is assigned a club card number, so you get the special prices.

I order from them at home, can you tell? :)

We had our groceries delivered to HOJO's earlier this month. We ordered through Albertsons and was given a hour and a half window. They were about 25 minutes over that time but no big deal, we were napping at that time anyway. The front desk called us when the groceries arrived and someone from the desk brought them to our room. We didn't ask, he offered. :) We tipped him because he did not have to bring them to us at all...just one more way HOJO's goes over and above on service.

I just got this message from the Von's site when trying to create an account

"We apologize, Safeway.com does not deliver in the 92803 zip code at this time. "

Do I have the wrong zipcode? 92803 is what was listed on the site for the GCH....

Weird!

I had 92801 in the "autofill" on the page to change, I assume b/c that's HoJo's zip code, and it works for that code. Then I checked out PP and DLH's zip codes, and they are 92802, and that works. I wonder if you could fudge it with using DLH's zip but GCH's address?:confused3
