so i've heard of wegoshop.com, gardengrocer.com, and goodings.com. which one would you recommend and why?

this is my sister's 1st trip to WDW...it'll be her, her DH, and 11-year old DD, and 5 year old DS. they are staying at the Disney's POP century resort.

any tips and advice would be appreciated! btw, their trip is in early may 2009.

We used Garden Grocer last April and it was fantastic! Our flight was delayed- but that didn't change anything with our delivery. They simply gave it to the bell services and we told the desk that we had a delivery waiting there and they delivered the groceries right to our room. We stayed at Pop and even purchased a cooler thru Garden Grocer and used it to store the bottled water we bought.

It worked so well that I will be doing it again on our next trip!

i <3 gardengrocer.com definitely the best! if it isnt listed, they will definitely do their best to get it for you.

I also debated this. While we haven't ever used any of these services, we finally decided we'd give gardengrocer a shot. Why?
1 - They charge the least - $12 for delivery ($40 minimum), gratuity optional. Wegoshop is $17 or more + 3% extra for credit payment + 10% gratuity if you're not present for delivery. Goodings is $20 for a $50 minimum order and their prices are reportedly on the high side.
2 - You don't have to be present when they deliver.
3 - It's specifically recommended by The Unofficial Guide.
4 - They will deliver beer (this was confirmed by them in an email just a couple weeks ago).
5 - Their website is very nicely laid out, simple to browse, with most of the foods we would choose at our local store. The only major exception I could find was that they don't carry our preferred coffee. They DO carry tiny bottles of laundry detergent.
6 - Possibly most important, I've NEVER read a poor review for gardengrocer (and I devoted a lot of time to this decision). I imagine there must be a couple floating around out there, but I haven't seen one, and that's a pretty good track record.

To be fair, I have also read glowing reports for wegoshop, and it seems like that's the better choice if you need non-grocery-store items (like an umbrella stroller or a cooler or pharmacy items).

We are going to try gardengrocer in the next couple of weeks. Will see how it goes.

Well, we've used WeGoShop for the last 4 years and they are wonderful. Marge is great about getting us exactly what we want either in brand name or store brand. They always deliver on time, and if we need to make a sudden addition to the list, no problem in doing so. Their web site is easy to navagate, place your order, specify a delivery date and time. We're putting together a list now for October family visit.

Garden Grocer was excellent for us. They delivered on time and the items were fresh and as ordered.
Their delivery charge was lower than others. I have heard they will deliver beer, which some others will not.
They brought our groceries to bell services the day we arrived, and bell services delivered them to our room. The frozen/cold items had been stored in the freezer/fridge in bell services, so all was cold and fresh.

We are going to use garden grocer (my brother had great service in the past) Any thoughts on how much you would add in the gratuity line?

They suggest 20% but I think for an order of $5- $100- five to eight dollars is appropriate.:goodvibes

We are using GardenGrocer next week. I was very impressed at how quickly they responded to my emails/questions.

As for tip, I tipped $9 on a $90 order (it's apparently split between three people/steps - shopper, preparer, delivery person).

I have been to the World many times but have never ordered groceries. It's crazy how excited I am about this order (and yes, I probably do need to get a life). :)

This is great advice. I would like to get some things for us to eat for breakfast in the room... yogurts, bagels, fruit, Individual OJs... as well as snacks and water! These are expensive to buy there and because of the perishables I don't want to send them from home. It's great that you don't have to be there and they will keep your cold things cold till you get them. I love that! :lovestruc

My boys love their breakfasts and will snack on yogurts all day if I let them. They are essential, so I think this would work out great!

Hi all
I am going to Disney 7/27. can't wait. When can I order from garden grocer? I am staying at POFQ and of course dont know my room number. Also can I order a cake from disney for my hubby or is it to early?

TIA
Joanne

My friend is leaving for WDW in 2 weeks. She was told by another friend who goes quite often that Walmart will deliver groceries. I can't imagine that being true. Does anyone else know? I have told her about gardengrocer, but I can't believe that Walmart would deliver. :confused3
