Groceries on DME

Hi All,

I've searched all over and can't find an answer to this

We're staying at the Poly 1/25-2/2

We're arriving at MCO on 1/24 around 730pm. We have a couple of young ones with us so we are staying at the Hyatt that evening and taking DME the next morning. My plan was to take an Uber (approx $10 each way) over to the nearest Walmart, pickup a grocery order, and take it with us on DME the next morning. We have to grab our bags that evening and take them with us on DME in the morning, so I was thinking it's not that big of a hassle to bring the groceries with us. We will only have a couple of items that require refrigeration and they'll fit in our softside cooler.

We prefer to use Walmart pickup over delivery & other delivery services because of a wider variety of product selection, certain items aren't available for delivery, and the cost savings for our family is over $200 (I was a little shocked!) for what we're purchasing.

Will DME having any issues with us bring a couple of boxes of groceries with us?

Thanks

In the past I've seen the DME driver put boxes, coolers and grocery bags under the bus with the luggage. They have only allowed carry ons onto the bus.

I have no idea about taking the groceries on DME but you could also look into Walmart delivery at your Disney resort. We did that last year and it was no problem! We just had to meet the driver to pick up the groceries.

They won't mind at all, the items would just have to go under the bus. You can't actually carry them on the bus with you and keep them in your sight. Typically anyhting larger than a backpack needs to go under. Other than that, go ahead. If your schedule allows, I would see about walmart delivery right to your Disney resort.

If you have a large duffle, you might want to consider packing it and then using that to hold a lot of the groceries not fragile. This way, they will stay safe and contained under the DME bus.
