We really want to get on Gringotts quickest way possible. Should we store our bags outside the line queue (I heard theres a long line to get a locker) or put them in the lockers near the entrance of Universal park? Appreciate your advice.

If you can pay for a locker outside the turnstiles (I don't know if they exist) then walking directly to the ride would be best.

However, I think it would be a mistake to peal off from the fast moving line before the ride.

there are family lockers near the entrance to the parks.
you pay one fee for the entire day and can reopen it anytime.

but, if you put things in that locker such as water bottles, camera, glasses, etc and need them after you do the restricted no bag rides, you would have to walk back to the front of the park to retrieve some of those item.

can't win either way.......

i have read that if someone in your group has to leave to put items in the locker while in the ride line, the TM's do let them go back to their original place in line with their companions.

There isn't a locker queue. You just get a locker after you've waited in line for a while. You'll be waiting in the same line regardless of whether or not you have a bag, so it's probably wise to just bring it so you can have things you might need while waiting (like water bottles and snacks).

At what point do they check for bags. DH will be walking through the que with us but won't be going on the ride portion. Will I be able to hold on to my bag until he leaves via the chicken exit or do I need to get a locker?

If your DH isn't riding, you don't need to store the bags as long as he takes them when he leaves.

No reason to stow it at all, no reason (or ability) to take it further in the line with you...just have him take it!

If it is just me, an adult, with 2 kids that are younger (7 & 9) that can't wait in line alone, then do we need to put our things in a locker before we even get into the line for the ride? I don't imagine they will let me AND the kids out of line to store our things and still let us back in our original spot in line, right??

In our case, both times, we were toward the front and they specifically asked everyone to get out of the line as they would not be able to rejoin. The line was moving too fast at that point through the ride.

So instead of being in the first or second car, we were 4th or 5th. Not a big deal.

I suspect if you are farther back before entering the building you could dash ahead to the right of the entrance and then catch up to your party.

I get that you aren't comfy with them being in line alone for a short bit, but universal goes by height for being alone (in line and even riding as long as they also make the height for a "taller" ride of course). Since the kids are tall enough for gringotts they are tall enough to be alone in the line. (I can't recall the specific height but it's the same height as for hippogriff)

Got it all wrong! Ignore that!

Like I posted later...

I've just remembered why I remembered it like that, and it was BECAUSE of Hippogriff and the 14 times I got to ride in a row with DS, only noticing the sign on the 14th ride that DS was tall enough to ride it alone.

Thank you this is helpful info. Now I know what to expect.

The height to ride alone is 48". The height for Gringotts is 42" and Hippogriff is 36" :thumbsup2

They'll most likely let the kids wait alone in the line for the few minutes it takes for the parent to go to the lockers and come back.

I'll have to go in and edit my pre-coffee post. I've just remembered why I remembered it like that, and it was BECAUSE of Hippogriff (not the height of Hippogriff) and the 14 times I got to ride in a row with DS, only noticing the sign on the 14th ride that DS was tall enough to ride it alone.

That said, for the OP...7 and 9...there's a possibility they'll be tall enough. DS was 6.5 and tall enough to ride alone.

Didn't realize Gringott's was such a low height requirement. Seems awfully little for a ride whose restraints they had to make SO restrictive!

Thanks for the tips with the lockers! I just wonder whether we are allowed to wear or carry caps/visors on the ride. I am trying to not carry my backpack but I really need my visor.

Thanks in advance for helping me out and have fun planning!
