I like this show where CEO's go undercover to see how well their business runs. I am sure they will mostly focus on the US properties but will no doubt do something in Niagara. I think it is on at 9pm.

I actually got a notice from Great WopldLodge resorts teling me about it - they must come out smelling like roses......

WOnder if the CEO will eat the food. I love GWL but I've never had a good meal there!

Ditto, great time, but horrible food. Now we bring our own.

Looking forward to seeing this as I have recently been to the one in Niagara....did not eat at the property but did have fun with the kids:)

I watched it last night. I find it suspicious how these undercover bosses are always training with employees who have had/are going through an unfortunate event in their life.

Last night was no different - a young man with no father "actually a couple but less than desirable persons", an employee whose daughter was to be off to college next year, but her husband lost his job of 23 years, another lady who lost her daughter to a MVA at age 9 and now is remarried and has a young child and a single mom who needs knee surgery and never gets to participate in her childrens extracurricular activities because she works all hours. Of course the CEO went above and beyond for each of these people, which is a great thing - wish I worked for a company/CEO who lavished gifts such as these upon their employees, but isn't the premise of the show supposed to be about the boss going in and seeing what is actually going on, and not about showing how outstanding they can be in helping out their employees and making their companies look good?

DH and I also made that comment. So just because you were "chosen" to train with the boss, she gives you 6 months of leave with your family paid!! PLus there were promotions, tuitions.....how is that making those that didn't get that opportunity feel.

At the end it said as a rtesult of her desire to give more family time to her employees, they developed a policy that all empolyees could use the water park with their family for free. THEY DIDN'T HAVE THIS ALREADY????

When I worked at Wonderland, my entire family could visit for free any time.....

What was refreshing is seeing a female CEO reduce to tears several times with her staff......I was always worried I was a big baby....gues it's hormonal!

I thought it was strange too that they didn't already have free family access, but at least they do now!

I was wondering if anyone here that has been to the Niagara Falls location has also been to a US location? Are they the same? How would you compare them? The ones on the show looked much bigger than the one in Niagara, but that could have been the angles and just the show. When I check US locations they seem to vary in price quite a bit depending on location. Just wondering if we should go back to GWL in Niagara or if it's worth the road trip to a US location. Thanks!

I drove past the one in Sandusky, Ohio and it looked much smaller than the Niagara GWL. We stayed at Kalahari in Sandusky - if you're willing to take a roadtrip that way, I would highly recommend it over the GWL. The waterpark was alot bigger, which meant it was not as crowded as GWL Niagara, more slides, huge arcade, indoor putt-putt golf, outdoor mini zoo that's open all year and much cheaper (there are always package deals on their website and often $99/night deals).

I have watched the show several times. I have to wonder how much gets edited out. I am sure they are very careful about what gets shown so as not to show their business in a way that would damage theri reputation. It is just odd how ever single show is so similiar. The CEO goes into a locker room looking place, changes into their "disguise", is trained by various people, all of whom end up telling this stranger(not to mention cameras) all about how rough their life is. The undercover boss is usually pretty bad at the job they are training for and are usually moved to tears over how hard the employees work. I just find the whole show to be so cookie-cutter,repetative. In the end they all come together, watch a video of the CEO doing something silly on the job and have a good laugh about it. The employees get more money/better positions/perks for the family and all is well.

Since watching the Great Wolf Lodge episode, we have now adopted the "AFR" terminology for our cat who occassionally missses the litterbox! LOL!:rolleyes1

We have been to the Sandusky location and the Niagara location. Niagara is bigger. Sandusky we get much better rates for however. Now Kalahari Resort and Waterpark on the other hand is enormous and is our absolute favourite now! It is about 5-10 drive from the GWL in Sandusky and so much bigger it is unreal.

They actually showed their Choice Hotels CEO at the largest Econo Lodge in Orlando and showed some of the problems at the hotel as well....I was surprised as there is usually only "up" stories on the Undercover Boss series but I was pleased to see that they made some recommendations for changes at that particular hotel and that the hotel owner agreed to make changes.
