Hello CBers! Greetings from hot, hot, HOT Disney World! (oh, did I mention that it was HOT here??)

We are now at the Boardwalk - moved here yesterday after spending 3 great nights at the Polynesian. Our room now is right above the bakery so we have a great view. At the Polyneisan we had a lagoon view so we got to see the fireworks from our room.

We were down here the same week last year and this will probably be our last summer trip. The heat is sucking the life out of us. :) We are fortunate that we get to go often since it allows us to bypass the long waits knowing we'll get back another time. Our best time at the mk was on monday when we had 8:05 p.s. at the castle. DD5 got to meet her favorite princess, aurora. We got out in time for the rope drop in frontof the carousel. DH took DD5 and hit all the rides in fantasy land. DS9 and I took off and opened peter pan - we were the first and only people on the ride - cool! Then over to BTMR where we walked on and had our own train - could have gone on again but DS said no. Then walked on SM where we again had our own vehicle. Walked on POC, then were one of the first boats out of JC. Over to COP, TTA and then BUZZ - walk-ons. We did all of that before 10. After that the park got so busy and the lines were huge. Waits for SM were past the futuristic palm trees. At night the crowds came in for spectro and the fireworks. We went on the rides with no lines - lots of COP and tta. After not going for years we saw Hall of Presidents. So cool to see them all on the stage! Both ROnald Reagan and George Bush got loud applause. Als saw tikki birds and country bears.

Went to MGM on moving day yesterday - packed! The great movie ride had queues all outside - and so did the muppets. We went to the Walt Disney show - still love it. To give you an idea of the crowds, we went to the sci-fi around 11:30 for our 11:50 p.s. and at that time they were not taking any walk-ins until 9 p.m.!!

I'm not sure how these crowds compare, but they are the largest we have seen. We will work around it. Now that we are here we are concentrating on EPCOT. Last night we went on SE and Imagination. Also saw the movie in Canada - we hope to see ALL the shows in the countries and the kids want to do their masks. Both kids are into trading pins this trip so that has been fun.

We have lunch today (1st time) at the coral reef. Tomorrow we hope to go to Typhoon Lagoon first thing and only hit the wave pool and castaway creek.

We only had one storm - sat. night when we were at 'Ohana for dinner - lots of heat lightning at night.

This is our first trip with DS on medication and he is wiped out! We have been taking breaks every day and we have all benefited from the mid-day naps. This morning we were going to hit EPCOT early opening but the kids didn't get up until 8:30 and that was ok - no pressure this trip! DH has to do a conference call this afternoon so I'll be doing laundry and taking the kids to the pool.

Went to whispering canyon the other night and it was crazy! :)

Not sure when I'll getback on again...

Take care! Off to EPCOT! :)

WOW!!! Sounds like you are not missing a lot, sounds great!!! Put the AC on, I'll be there in a few, never been in the middle of summer. :sunny: Keep enjoying.

Wow! It sounds like you are having a great trip, depsite the heat. Gotta love getting to the parks early! Thanks for the posting, its the next best thing for us besides being there. :D
Enjoy the rest of the trip.

We went a few weeks ago. It was so hot, we did everything at night. (Erides is the way to go if possiable) Swin in the a.m. nap and go again! We did Epcot one day and nearly passed out!

But, Oct. will be much nicer! I think the mid summer trips are a thing of the past for us! Scattered showers+90 degres=wore out!

On our trip May 21-29 this year the crowds had already arrived and the heat was wicked..I was able to use EMH so we saw everything but I kept thinking WOW what is July and Augest going to be like.

You're not kidding about the heat, JESW. It got usually HOT early this year. My bf was gracious enough to let me use his air conditioned car to take Maddy somewhere and for me to get to work. Driving from where we live to Orange Blossom Trail without air in my car had us soaking in sweat! UGH! :crazy2:

Cool!

I'm not so sure I would want to be above the boardwalk bakery - I might venture down there way too much with smells wafting up to my room! ;) lol!

Enjoy the Coral Reef - have some lobster bisque for me - yummy!!

You lucky dog you!! What awesome resorts you are visiting this time out, im SOOOO envious!! Enjoy it for us!!

Will you still be there on Sunday evening? Please come by the ESPN Sports Club to say "hi". There are a bunch of us getting together at 7PM. Would love the chance to finally meet you.

I agree with everyone else. Drink LOTS of water. I made the mistake of getting dehydrated during one of our July trips to WDW and it was not fun.

Have some fun for the rest of us!!! I can't wait to get to BWV in august.

Sounds like we missed the HOT HOT HOT weather! We were there 6/12-6/18. In the afternoon it would get hot, but not unbearable.
The Boardwalk looks like a great place to stay! DH and I ventured down there our last night for dinner at the brewery place, and it was wonderful!
Have a great time and try to stay cool-drink your water!:boat:

Sounds like you're having a great time, Jill! Wave to Jellyrolls for me ;)

Thanks for the report. We'll be there in October as well and are just counting the days...

We LOVED the BWI! We were just there on our Honeymoon last month. If you are on the concierge level be sure to tell Scott that Lisa & Dustin, the honeymooners from Seattle say Hi!
I would love to go back sometime soon, but we have to save up some money first!

Just another update while we take a break....

Went off to EPCOT this morning. At 10:30 Test Track had a 90 minute wait with fp's coming back at 4:30 - 5:30. Went on Universe of Energy and Imagination. Had lunch at Coral Reef - eh. Funny thing was the idiot who put up a fuss because he was not seated by the tank. Some people think the world owes them everything. At least he was entertaining.....when he was bellowing about wanting a waiter and wanting to move...all eyes were on him.

There has just been one other "bad" incident. The other day at MK a group of us were in line to meet Sleeping Beauty. This woman walked off the street, bypassed the line of about 20 people and took her kids to the front. Several of us yelled out that there was a line. A gentleman went up to her to tell her about the line and she said - no speak english. Several people told the cm's and they told her that several people said she had cut the line. She then turned around and said - who told you! In perfect english no less...

No grumpy cm's...most have been quite friendly. I like talking with the kids in the college program (DS9 says he wants to do that) and the ones in world showcase.

We just love the Boardwalk and it's now our favorite resort. The kids and I spent over an hour in the pool and going up and down the slide. Even tho we are above the bakery we can't smell it. Karen, I think of you whenever I see Jellyrolls. :)

Off to EPCOT to walk around World Showcase...our most favorite thing to do. It is still HOT when the sun goes down. It's so hot that at 8:30 A.M. the sweat just drips down your body. We broke down and spent $17/each to buy the kids those water sprayers...the price you pay to stop the whining.

But I have to ask....all these people I am seeing in long pants - WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING????????

The vacation IS going well....we are spending time together and relaxing. We are doing what we WANT to do...picking and choosing and going past long lines. I feel bad for people coming down for the very first and maybe only time. You experienced people will know how to handle the heat and crowds.

For those folks coming down soon...if you see us up on the balcony give a shout! :) We leave sunday morning.

Keep cool!

Jill

Oh, envy, envy, envy!!! We stayed at the BWI in May and absolutely loved it!!! Sigh, I could just look at the pictures over, and over and over again!!
