Just a quick thanks to all of you who gave me feedback about Great Wolf Lodge. We went over the week-end to the one in Niagra Falls and had a fantastic time!! It was very clean and the rooms were HUGE. There were two queen size beds, a separate sitting area, a balcony overlooking the outside pool and cathedral ceilings (and this with a booking for the cheapest suite available). The theming was also very well done!

My dd4 and dd1 had a great time in the waterparks. There were slides for kids of all ages and swimming abilities. Best of all, it was very family oriented...so lots of parents of various shapes and sizes just having a good time with their kids. There were a lot of teens overunning the waterslides...it was just all good fun!

There were also crafts, storytelling, and mini-golf right on site.

We paired our time at the lodge with tours of local wineries...it was a good compromise between things for the parents and things for the kids. Everyone had a good time and ended up happy!

I recommend it, if you are looking for something fun while you wait for your next trip to WDW!

Last month I was looking into GWL in Niagara Falls the ads seem so great.
I really wanted a cabin or wolf den room so the kids could have their own space and every time I priced it online it was $390 a night. That's $780 for 2 nights. I just priced Fort Wilderness Cabin for 5 nights in August with 2 adult, 2 child tickets and free dining and it was $1750. Seems like a better way to spend my money. Don't know if I could ever bring myself to go to Florida in the heat and humidity of August though.
What did you pay per night for your double room?

We paid 234. per night (Canadian) which was better when the exchange rate was higher. It included the water park admittance and mini-golf. They have 100.00 off coupons online, but they weren't valid over Memorial Day week-end when we went.

For us, it was in driving distance...which made it cheaper than Disney (where we would have to pay for flights) and we are going to Disney next month. It did a bit of a "Disney" feel with the theming, family enviroment, etc- but was limited only to the hotel/water park.

It was worth it and we'll go back...but not as a substitute for Disney, as a different kind of trip for shorter periods of time. We really like the Niagra-On-The-Lake region...it is very quaint (not to be confused with Niagra Falls, which, IMO, is very touristy and kind of over the top).

was the water park filled with the cholrine smell? also did the price include the water park? :cheer2:

Yes, the inside part of the water park did smell like chlorine. It was essentially a huge room filled with water of different sorts (wave pools, lazy rivers, slides, etc). The outside pool did not have the same chlorine smell because, well, it was outside!

Yes, the price of the room included water park admittance...and the parks had most of the same experiences/rides as BB or TL- just not as spread out since it was mostly indoors. The wave pool was pretty small and the lazy river was shorter, but it was all fun!

Again, not a substitute for Disney...but a good trip in and of itself!
