www.ratestogo.com has better deals for GWL. But they are booked only like a month in advance. I have seen rates during the week as low as $129!

Depends on the day you pick, and what suite you want.

Right now (2:25 p.m. EST on Friday afternoon), for a family of four, a family suite with balcony/patio on Friday, August 28th is showing as $219.95 for the HOWLB4U package (which includes the golf, arcade tokens, and plush toys for the kiddos). Rate is exactly the same if you book room & waterpark passes only. Other dates are over $400 for the same suite (weekends and holidays are always at a premium).

All that said, these rates could be different tomorrow (heck, they could be different later this afternoon). GWL's rates change as their occupancy levels increase. So the fewer rooms that remain, the more expensive the remaining rooms get.

Most of the time this is true, but not always.

A family suite for August 28th is currently on the GWL website for $219.95 (same rate for room & waterpark passes only, or the HOWLB4U promo which gets you golf for everyone in the family, as well as arcade tokens and a plush toy for each child). Ratestogo is showing a price of $249 for the same day and suite with no "extras" (ie no golf/arcade tokens/toys).

Just make sure you check both sites before reserving to be sure you're getting the very best deal!

And compare some of the packages that are offered before assuming that a room/waterpark passes-only rate is better. With a package rate, we booked for July directly with the lodge that included ALL our food (buffet breakfast, Pizza Hut Express or Bear Claw Cafe lunch, and full buffet dinner), and it was almost exactly the same cost as the ratestogo fees for the same dates (ratestogo are always only room and waterpark passes ... no extra inclusions). Sometimes the lodge can offer some pretty appealing packages, depending on what your family enjoys doing!
