Great tip if your travelling with small babies on formula

If you are travelling with babies to the 'world' and they are still on formula I found that by ordering all foods ( non meat) and formula at the boots past customs you dont have to do the horrible taste testing that they make you do and there is no limit to the amount you take onboard.

I orders loads of the ready made cartons of formula and jars and they were waiting for me when I had gone through customs.

I ordered it about three weeks before I travelled and called about 2 days before I got there to be sure is was all in.

There are some lines they cannot do but check when you order. They were really helpful and found it be invaluable when my little one was small as the formula in the US was completly different and you had to buy special water too.

they dont stock all milks though! in nov i did this and i couldnt get their milk as they dont stock it so make sure they stock it

We did this in September last year too. I just ordered the ready made cartons of formula though for the flight.

Its also worth remembering that although you are not limited to how much you can buy - you do still have to comply to your hand luggage restrictions. I got a real jobsworth on one flight who was insisting on everyone only carrying on 1 piece of hand luggage and anyone who had an extra carrier bag had to put this inside their normal hand luggage. In my case it was 1 small bottle of water lol!

I also never bought special water - all hotels and parks will provide you with normal boiled water upon request.

You can order on Boots.com and have it delivered to the store of your choice, usually takes 4-5 working days.

So, you can order your ready made baby milks online (2 weeks out to be safe) and then have them delivered to an airside store. This would save you having to call the store to place the order.


If you search for the store you want to be delivered to on the Boots.com store locator, it will tell you what services it provides including whether you can do order and collect to that store.
