CompUSA had a free (with rebates) wireless keyboard and mouse with the purchase of Turba Tax

January 17, 2005

Shoot! I missed that one when scanning the ads yesterday. Today I went for the free ream of paper and 50 CD-Rs with Turbo Tax Deluxe ($30 with Rebate) at Office Depot. Of course I also got the free software too - Turbo Tax State, Quicken 2005, Norton Anti-Virus.

We don't have a wireless keyboard or mouse. Maybe we would prefer that to the CDs (which are supposed to worth $19.99) ?

What to do, what to do???

Yes, you can. I have done it for 3 years now and it's so easy. After I'm done, I print out a copy to put in our files with the W-2's. Great service!

I have not looked at ALL the ads, but here are 2 that I have seen for this week 1-24-05 :

Office Depot: In addition to all of the software deals (free with mail-in rebates: Quicken, Norton, and the State Tax program with the purchase of TurboTax Deluxe - $30 with mail-in reabate), you get a free shredder, ream of paper and $10 Office Depot Gift Card.

Office Max: All of the software as mentioned above, then you get a free 2 Color Printing Calculator and $10 Office Max Gift Card.

All of the above are based upon mail-in rebates.

I got the 50 CDs at Office Depot last week, but I think that I may return them and get the printing calculator at Office Max.

:)

Ok, I'm totally excited. I forgot to check my ads for this, so this thread really helped. I purchased from Office Depot, but I went through my American Airlines skymall & got 196 miles in my account in addition to all the savings! Also, I got free shipping, since my products were over $50! I bought TurboTax Deluxe, Shredder, paper, and Quicken 2005 Basic: total before tax $98.89. Rebates & gift card will be $78.41. My total will be $20.48. AND Turbotax deluxe offers free state tax software after mail-in rebate, so I'll get that.

You can get 2% by going through Upromise, 2 miles for every dollar via American Airlines mall, or 1 mile for every dollar via United Airlines mall (if only I could go through all 3).

Faithful taxact.com user here! I've used it for the past 3 years and it's great. It is FREE to use but you do have to pay a $7.95 fee to file federal/state returns. I used the deluxe version for $9.95 (which includes federal filing fee) and has several great alerts listed to help you save more of your hard earned dollars! I did my taxes last night while watching the Steelers lose :guilty: and my refund is expected on Feb 4th! I've gotten my refund earlier than expected the past 2 years with taxact.com!!!!

Okay, don't anyone laugh, but for those of you who file online, how do you get your 1099's, 1098's, and W-2s to the IRS then? I just don't get it!

The IRS doesn't require you to file all that information if you file electronically. They have all that information anyway.

No need to send anything in!!!

I have to use a home and business version since my husband is self employed. Does anyone know of any good deals on this?

Thanks!!

Just finished mailing in my rebates for TaxCut Deluxe. What I found interesting is the rebates were only good at certain stores. Stores listed that were no good - Target Costco are 2 that stand out in my mind.

I got TaxCut Deluxe, Money Deluxe 2005, free e filing, free state filing for $14.95 - from CompUSA 2 weeks ago. Had been using Money Deluxe 2002 so this was a great upgrade for me.

Hi Carol!

I believe that you must use the "premier" versions of TurboTax or TaxCut. I think that all of the offers that I have mentioned are good on the "deluxe" versions and ABOVE. So they would be good for you. If you just want the tax program and none of the "freebies," I see that there is an on-line version of the "premier" edition of TurboTax. Here is a link to the TurboTax site: http://www.turbotax.com/lp/1a.html?source=gl4lp1a3&venue=goog-srch&kw=turbotax

Good Luck! :)
