I just had to tell you guys the exciting news, we are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon!!!! But my fiance was very tricky about planning it.
3 weeks ago we decided that we wanted to do the big honeymoon later in 2006 and not go somewhere we have been before (Mexico, Dominican, Caribbean cruise, etc.), so we started looking in a Hawaii cruise on Norwegian. But we started pricing it out and it was going to be pretty expensive, even with the discounted cruise, the flight was still over $1000 Cdn each. Since the ship we would be on doesn't take its maiden voyage until June, Matt and I decided to think about it more, check out our finances and wait until after the initial reviews were posted.
Over the past week and a half, Matt kept telling me that he thought it was too expensive and that we should take a Caribbean cruise. My response each time was "we're only getting one honeymoon and I want it to be in Hawaii". Well, it turns out that 10 days ago Matt booked the cruise without telling me! His parents had decided that they wanted that to be our wedding present from them, so they are covering both the flight and the cruise itself.
So on Sunday night, we went over there for dinner. As soon as we got there, I was told to close my eyes, they put a lei around my neck and gave me a gift bag with the flight/cruise confirmation and the cruise brochure. I was so excited. Matt then confessed that the only reason he mentioned the Caribbean cruise was b/c he needed to make sure that this was the kind of honeymoon I wanted and he didn't want to exclude me from the planning process entirely. I felt out of the loop, but I loved it!
Sorry this is so long, I just had to tell you guys!
