Hey everyone,

First time posting here. Used to ask questions on Intercot but it's looking like a ghost town on the Disneyland boards over there lately. Anyway, my wife and I are going to vacation in Scottsdale and Anaheim this summer. We will be driving back and forth from Arizona to Anaheim and wondered if there was a better route than just taking the interstate? Anything scenic that is a must see?

Thanks!

Las Vegas? Hoover Dam? Tram in Palm springs?

The 78 through Anza Borrega, into Julian (stop and have the apple pie) through to Escondido.

The old Route 66; particularly from Kingman to Needles. Oatman is really cute.

I assume that you live in Arizona around Scottsdale and already have seen Sedona...

Actually, we are from Washington State. We are thinking of moving to Arizona, or back to California (where I was born). So neither of us has really seen Arizona before.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll check it out.

While you're in Arizona, I highly recommend you drive up to Sedona. It is only about an hour from Scottsdale. You can also beat the heat and drive further north to Flagstaff. There are National Monuments as well Powell Observatory (Where Pluto was discovered, yes, I still think it's a real planet) to visit. The Grand Canyon is another hour from there.

I've never taken the northern route to Anaheim, but you can get to California from Flagstaff by taking I-40 West and then swing south from there.
