We were at POFQ from Dec 11-16. We had a great stay. Check in was fast, and our rooms were ready at 1130.
The Airconditioner in our room was not cycling cold, so it was hot. I called to get it fixed. I was offered another room, but since we were with a group, decided to wait. It did take 6 hours to get it fixed, but since it was my choice not to split up and wait, It was all good.
FoodCourt. Everyone was very polite and seemed to go out of their way to help out. Whenever the line at the bakery was long, the person in the next shop would come over to help until they had a guest themselves. We never saw the food court crowded at breakfast (We went usually around 8am.)
Pool. The pool was a little chilly, since the aire was warm it was okay for our family from Maryland, but not us. Lifegaurds were extremely friendly and interacted with the guests more than I have seen before.
Housekeeping. This is the area that made this resort great for us. We had the same housekeeping all 5 nights. Her name was Rosmira, and she was wonderful. After the first day she knew who we were and always did something fun with the kids stuffed animals. She set up towel animals (Monkey and Bear) and set up a trapeze between the two beds with towels. The check in day, she saw us go in the room and asked if we needed anything. I told her we liked to have extra towels, so if we use them mid day we don't have to call for more. Well everyday, we had about 10 extra towels left in various places. She also left lots of shampoo and soap. She also vacuumed every day, which doesn't usually happen at a WDW resort.
We were in Building 7, and the walk to the food court/Bus Stop/Store was not bad at all. The big negative for bldg 7 is if you are on the side facing the parking lot. It is apprantly the staging area for buses, and in the morning there are like 10-12 busses driving in constantly awaiting a direction to go. It didn't bother us, but if you sleep late, it could disturb you.
I am a very critical person, and can find fault very easy, and I abhor defending Mediocrity (credit to Mr Lutz), but POFQ did an excellent job and really is a great place to stay.
I will post our review of the parks on the parks board. Overall they were great as well, but there were a few more bumps in the road there.
