Great place to eat Horseshoe Valley/Orillia area?

Going for a work conference, staying at Carriage Ridge in Horseshoe Valley. Any tips for great places to eat w/out going "all the way" into Barrie?

Hi there, we stayed there on our way to Florida in Feb. It was about the half way point for us getting to Buffalo for our flight. Nice resort, seems to have lots of things to do. Rooms were nice as well. We didn't use the pool, cause we didn't get in until 9 pm, and apparently kids are not allowed on the pool deck after 9 pm. So I wasn't happy with that, but oh well. I know there were a few options for eating, but not many, there is a couple of restaurants just close to the resort. Good luck.

If you go into Orillia Theo's is fabulous we drive from Barrie all the time just to have dinner there. It has pasta, steak, shrimp. I recomend the chicken parmigan and the caesar salad is the best I have ever had. My husband loves the lasagna. We have never had a bad meal and the service is great. Chicken parm dinner with spaghetti, bread and caesar salad $17.00.

If you are just in the mood for something lite Maripossa Market has great sandwiches, quiche and desserts.

I think a lot of people drive from Barrie to Theo's. If you are feeling lucky there are some great restaurants on-site at Casino Rama - depending on how much time you have.

In Barrie I would recommend Shirley's (downtown) or Moxie's (top of Bayfield @ the mall).

If you're short for time Horseshoe has it's own restaurant that I've heard is really good.

Thank you for all of the great suggestions! Yesterday only had time for a quick stop so it was at the Orillia Bakery & Deli, OMG so good!
