Yup I did! ::yes::

I've been going back and forth, back and forth about whether to stay at SSR or BCV. My DH finally made the decision that we can stay at SSR for the next 50 yrs, so we are making our rounds to the other resorts for as long as we can until we can't get in them anymore.

SSR, even w/ some of the negative posts out there, sounds really great to me. We just made our decision based on where our little ones will want to go. Our DS loves MGM and we love the access to the restaurants at EPCOT and BW. We stayed at BWV last January and thought the resort was simply divine. We wanted to try out another one.

I'm sure we'll love the BCV for its theme and SAB. Honestly we love all the Disney Resorts! I've never stayed at the BCV and so this will be fun. Next year, maybe VWL.

Hi,

That's great!!! Have a great time!!!

Congrats! Isn't it exciting when you get your wish! I felt the same about getting into BWV in 2 months. I thought for sure No Way! But we got it.

You'll love BCV. Very pretty resort!

Have Fun,

Congrats on your success at my "home" BCVs. I will be trying out your "home" in just over 3 weeks!

Thanks tinkgrl and MAC 3 for your well wishes. I do love all the resorts I've experienced thus far, but this will be my first visit to BCV, and that makes it so special! Plus, I'm sure my son will just love SAB. Plus, I keep hearing that it was an afterthought and nestled behind the Y&BC. My DH and I are pretty experienced when it comes to Disney, and so I am sure we will find the seclusion relaxing and nice. :D

Thank you for reaching out Pinnie. Oh PLEASE post your trip report when you get back. Even though I am staying at BCV, I never tire of hearing about SSR. I hope you have a wonderful time! :earsboy:

Have a magical day everyone!

Hi Brigitte,

Great news about BCV!! If you haven't tried it yet the BC has a nice character breakfast buffet with Goofy, Chip and Dale. There may be others but I don't remember.

Have a great time!!!:)

Hi Bridgette,
How exciting to get the resort you want right away1 I have finally made my final rez at BWV for the last week in July. My waitlist didn't come through but another member helped me by transferring my points to get her rez. She had waitlisted for me at the same time and her's came through. People came be so nice on these boards. I feel like I've made life long friends and I've only been a member for a few months. How was your stay at BWV? Can you give me some good tips on the resort? We'll only be there for 5 days. Which restaraunts should we not miss? We'll probably get a 4 day pass and a rental car. My mom and sis are staying outside Disney so it will a lot of swinging by to pick them up. How about views? I requested a high floor, Luna Park view. Thanks for any info. Denise

Thank you for your good words MJTinNH! I ate at the Cape May Cafe Character Breakfast this past January and LOVED it! We were one of the last seated and were there after closing. The characters stuck around and treated us as if we the first to arrive and the only ones in the whole place (which we were). Even the cooks and servers meandered a bit until we finished rather than just clearing off the bar. Goofy especially made our day by sitting down and coloring w/ my son for a long while. Thank you for suggesting we try it. You were right on target w/ that one, and now that we are actually STAYING right there, we'll have to make a PS for brunch.

Why hello there Degli! Nice of you to drop by my thread! Well, we just LOVED the BWV. Let's see...... some tips...... The Luna Park view was wonderful. I wanted the BW view (I'm a view person, really makes or breaks my trip), but we couldn't get it. So when we looked out and saw the Luna View, we were very pleased. We were so far far away from the elevators esp. w/ 2 tired kids. But I wouldn't have given up that view for anything. It was well worth the walk. I could see the canal, the S&D Hotels, the pool, and the Tower of Terror. We had a huge balcony too.

The restaurants we love in that area.... Well, there are just too many to mention. But I'll try. YS always gets great reviews and I really enjoyed the crab cakes and mozz chz appetizer there. We dined in a few times due to the kids being too tired and I soooo enjoyed the crab cakes at the FF and my DH loved the chix dish at Spoodles. We also got a take out at Spoodles for breakfast and took it over to the Luna Pool. That was cool. We also tried a few of the EPCOT restaurants. We try to get to different ones each time. This past year we did the Biergarten (a lot of fun!) and San Angel Inn (very good meal!). My favs at BWV...... sitting in those rocking chairs watching the world go by, walking around the Lake, stopping by the General Store for some items to munch or drink that evening, walking to MGM (so pretty), room service, and finally, being in the center of it all and yet getting away from the hustle and bustle in your own room. Just perfect!

I hope you enjoy yourself Denise. I'm looking so forward to reading your post when you get back. ::yes::

Should I request close to the elevators? Are all the best view rooms away from the elevators? I am so excited to be going. A great view is more important to me than being close to the elevators. Can't wait to hang by the pool. My kids are going to love the slide. They are 8 and 5. Are the restaraunts close to the pool? I assume that there is a snack type place in the pool area. Thanks, Denise

Thanks so much Maistre Gracey! It was great hearing from you! I always enjoy reading your posts and look forward to seeing around the boards!!!

Denise.... I got lucky because I had the LAST room down the hallway. We had a window on the side wall, plus a balcony off the back, and we were right next to the stairs and on the fourth floor. Couldn't have been any better, and yet I'm sure it will be hard to get again. Honestly, there was a big "U" shape of rooms around the pool, all having a view of the canal as well. I don't think any of those would have been a bad view. I mentioned the elevators because, although the walk was soooo long, we still had a magical vacation because the view made up for it big time. So IMO, I think most of the rooms have something nice to offer you (except for that "dumpster view" at VWL, maybe that one is just awful). So the next time I go, I'm not going to make many requests. I feel if I see the top of the fireworks at EPCOT..... great. But if I instead see the quiet pool... that's great too. I stayed in one of the Turret Rooms at the GF Main Lodge and requested the Castle view. I booked about a year in advance. I didn't get it. I was soooo disappointed and when it became available a few days later, I declined the move because we were settled in. The next time we stayed at the GF I requested nothing, and was on the Clarendon level overlooking the marina (we were smack dab in the middle of the marina) and the castle was in the background. We saw gorgeous fireworks every night. So I learned to go w/ the flow and stop stressing about the view, and when I do, I get the best one out there. I certainly hope you have as good luck as I did. But requesting top floor, Luna view, should give you a fantastic room. It certainly seemed to me that most of the "U" shaped area rooms had a fantastic view.

Your kids are going to LOVE the pool. And it is so easy to keep an eye on them at the Luna Pool, unlike SAB. I put a life vest on my DS, watched him, and sat w/ the baby. It's a wonderful pool for relaxing while keeping an eye on the kids. I am afraid at SAB, I will be carrying my towels and bags from one spot to the next as my DS flows along in the current of the lazy river. Maybe I'll get some exercise..... always a silver lining, right?!. There is a carousel type bldg right at the pool serving sandwiches and snacks and drinks. And there is a bathroom right in that same bldg. (I heard SSR doesn't have a bathroom closeby. ) Spoodles and the bakery are through the walkway under the bldg and across the grassy area... not too far. The General Store carries sodas, milk, snacks, essentials and that is on the Luna side of the grassy area, just through the walkway. We had frittatas from Spoodles one morning and they were marvelous. I'm sure eating them poolside in the morning sun added to the ambience.

BWV has so much to offer and we truly love it there. It is our favorite DVC thus far, but it is the only DVC we stayed in thus far. We wanted to go back this next time, but pushed ourselves into "trying out" another resort.

I hope I answered some of your questions. If you have any others, I'd be more than happy to tell you more and more. I just love it there.... as you can see! ::yes::

My sons loved SAB, but you do have to keep up with them! Have a great time!

I also wanted to assure you that SSR pool restrooms are close. They are located just to the right of the pool bar. They are underneath a a short walkway that leads to the courtyard/DVC Preview Center, but steps from the pool.

That is good to know! I was a bit worried about that one. And I am looking forward to trying out SAB. It'll be our first time and it looks so nice. We tried to squeeze in there last January w/ smiles on our faces and great attitudes, but the CM stood his ground and wouldn't let us in. :p So I guess we have to visit SAB the legal way!

Thanks for your post. I enjoyed hearing from you!
