Great new photos of Grand Californian Villas

Love it! Would be interesting to see the murphy bed and sofa bed pulled out at the same time to get an idea of space. Love the idea of the twin murphy bed rather than a sleeper chair...
Now if only we knew how much :teacher:

Thanks! I hope to get out there one day. :)

Wow! We were just there in November and I cannot believe how quickly things went up! Gorgeous pics thanks!

Great photos, but...

We have stayed at the GC a couple times, and really enjoy it.
Now, maybe it's just me, but the GC Villas don't really have that WOW factor for me. I mean, they look a bit "business like", or "industrial". They just don't seem to have a warm welcoming look.

I had planned on adding on there, but we'll see... :smokin:

I heard they were not letting folks take pics of the models until they were open (or I guess I should say reopened). Since there are pics I guess that means I can now go see the models. Was anyone at the preview in May and can tell us what changed?

MG - we visited the new Villa models in May while staying in a GC hotel room. We were both underwhelmed by the models compared to our room (lacking "fit and finish" details) ... but figured this was due our having been spoiled by 3 nights in a Concierge level hotel room, corner unit (very quiet location).

The strength of the villa unit vs hotel remains: space, kitchen and laundry. The 1BR unit felt larger than the space we are accustomed to at BWV and we greatly preferred the GC Villas dining table over that of BWV.

I had heard they hadn't finished 'accessorizing' yet.
Maybe once that is done and they have a little wear and tear the units will be more 'homey'? :laundy:
I'm just so excited to have something at DL!

The features that we noticed were less detail in the bath tiling, less interesting wallpaper, and a missing sink at the vanity (one instead of the hotel room's 2).

We were in Disneyland last week, and toured the models. I have to say they were lovely! The one-bedroom suite is especially nice, and the bed Murphy bed is very clever!

We stayed at the Grand Californian, and the feel in the models was the same. We can't wait to stay there!

We're heading back down to So. Cal. in December and I really hope the villas are ready!!

I really like the way they look. We are planning a Disneyland summer '10 trip just to stay in DVC there (hopefully)!
A question: two of the pics are labeled "second bathroom." Does the 1-bedroom have two bathrooms?? And sleeps five??

We were just at DL last week, and got to tour the models as well. They were very nice. We enjoyed them very much. The kids oohed and aahed and can't wait to stay in one themselves...especially when later on I pointed out the construction site from the Sun Wheel, and the view of the DCA park. DW is excited about adding on there...we've known we wanted to from the original announcement - but being able to tour definitely got her much more excited about it... can't wait for them to go on sale.

Yes. The 1-Bedroom has the Murphy bed in addition to the pull out couch in the living area, so my guess is that would sleep 5. Also, yes, there is another bathroom in the living area of the 1-Bedroom, though it just has a toilet, vanity, and shower.
