Great Movie Ride closes for Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway

I said MOST of them are either bad or have brief shelf lifes. Mary Poppins is just one movie, there's like a hundred bad or forgotten movies I didn't even list.



I'm glad you're not, there would be a "Littlest Outlaw" ride that no one goes on.

Disney didn't do any of those movies you listed at the end. Plus only one of them could be a decent attraction or resort section. Not even the biggest fans of "Singing" and "Gone" want to see them in those areas. Just admit you're wrong and move on.

You nit picked movies to pair them up against animated movies as @PuppyJonathan pointed out.

I have no idea what the littlest outlaw is. I wouldn't do that either but you can't undermine Disney does live action movies and they have successful ones.

I brought up those movies because they are in the Great Movie Ride and are considered major motion picture classics.

Even many of the live action movies that did enjoy success are now seen as old and outdated like "Honey I Shrunk the Kids","Herbie" and "the Absent Minded Professor".

Yeah they do live action movies as well, but most of them are either bad or have a very brief shelf life.

I didn't say there were more successful live action movies than animated movies. Disney of course is best at animated movies and that's where the most success is but you can't deny that live action movies play a huge role in their film studios as well.

You have a right to love what you want, but there are reasons why Disney got rid of attractions like LMA and Backlot. Most people didn't like them and they were seen as boring and outdated. Seeing props from "Flight of the Navigator" and "Thunder in Paradise" didn't excite people. "Star Wars" and "Toy Story" are generational franchises that will be around forever or at least until the zombie apocalypse.

Also I love Peoplemover as well, it doesn't seem outdated and it gives you a mini tour of Tomorrowland.

I'm in agreement with rteez on this one..a while back I even heard a rumor, or at least a thought, that a new name was in order for DHS (though that's talk for another thread).

I personally am not one to judge every single attraction based on whether it is outdated or not in fact most attractions I don't want them to update or I would only want them to update a few things without making the ride/attraction/show completely different than it's original. By update I don't mean things like painting or that kind of stuff but for example if they just completely re-did Carousel of Progress to "update" it with the full on modern times it just wouldn't be the same attraction to me and would lose it's appeal.

Maybe I'm just easier to please (and I'm not meaning any offense here).

They used to have Jaws, the old King Kong, Earthquake, the old Ghostbusters and Back to the Future. All of these are either great or real good movies whose attractions were replaced. And eventually Uni will have to do the same with The Mummy and E.T. too.

Even the best things in life have their bad parts like Disney World. Even though it isn't perfect I still have a great time every time I go though. It's like being a child again whenever I enter a Disney Park. I love Splash Mountain, Big Thunder and Space Mountain, but hate Stitch, Swiss Family Tree House and Enchanted Tales with Belle.

But the good always out exceeds the bad.

I wanted to add this, even if it misses a greater point that you were making: Disney has (and has had) many production companies under various names, and many more films for which it acted as a distribution partner. Walt Disney Pictures is but one.

The Three Caballeros were just pulled out of storage and put on Gran Fiesta Tour. They look great and very fluid in motion for being one of the older animatronics
