great minivan rate at Dollar

Just wanted to give a heads up- I got a rate of 192.14 (total) for a minivan for the dates 9/29/04-10/4/04, using the MAG code.

What a difference a day makes...

I have a minivan reserved from 9/28 to 10/3 at a total cost of $200.91. I just checked to see if I could get a better rate...it's currently $243.10!!

I just checked Dollar myself for my dates of 9/25 to 10/2 and (wahoo!) got a rate of $194.87 including all taxes for a minivan using the MAG code.

The best I could do with National EA was $248 so for $50 difference I'll go to the Fastlane counter. I've never rented from Dollar before; is Fastlane pretty quick?

It's certainly not as quick or convenient at National's EA, but I've never waited more than 10 minutes in the Fastlane line.

Just remember you need the Magic Card to use the MAG code.

Here is the exacting wording on the website when I enter MAG:

"Present your Orlando Magicard to the Dollar Rental Agent when you arrive and receive a 10% discount on your weekly rental at participating Florida locations."

I saw this on the website yesterday and posted it in another thread. I don't like surprises.

If you go to the orlandoinfo.com website someone else posted here for the Orlando Magicard it has a link that says you can print a Magicard right from your computer, which I did to bring with me.

Thanks for the info on the card. I printed mine. I just don't want any surprises at the rental car counter.
