Great Loews "Sea to Shining Sea" Rates

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this here yet, but I got an email from Loews yesterday advertising "Sea to Shining Sea Rates" available from now until February 28, 2002. These specials included both the Portofino Bay and Hard Rock Hotels. The dates I checked at the end of February had the following rates:

Portofino (Garden view) - $149
Portofino (Bay view) - $169
Porotfino (Pool view) - $199

Hard Rock (Garden view) - $129
Hard Rock (Pool view) - $149
Hard Rock (Deluxe Room, water view) - $189
Hard Rock (Club Room, concierge) - $229

These were better rates than I could get with either AAA or the Universal Fan Club card and since the Entertainment Rates are still not available yet, I went ahead and booked a Deluxe room at the Hard Rock. All of these rates were available for the 2 nights I checked (Feb. 21 and 22) at the Portofino but only the Deluxe and Club rates were available at the Hard Rock, so there is obviously limited availability. I do not believe you have to be a Loews First member - just ask for the "Sea to Shining Sea" Rates.

My travel agent got me the $129 rate for the HRH. That rate made me switch from Port Orleans Riverside in Disney to HRH. I am still hoping for the $99 rate that I've heard about, but this rate makes me happy and was too good to pass up.
