Great car rental rate for upcoming trip... Aug 17-25

Just wanted to share that rates are WAY DOWN at National. Midsize weekly base rate $125.64. 8 day rental with taxes totaled $147.40.

Used $35 coupon from Mousesavers.

Pardon me for asking, but how are you getting these prices? I just plugged in your dates even with the Continental Airline code I still get nothing lower than $175 or so. I even changed the pick up location from the airport to the CCC at DW and the price went up!

What am I doing wrong?

When I put a contract ID in my rate actually goes up... Go figure???

The $147.40 all inclusive seems to be the best rate after several tried and variations of IDs and coupons.

Try playing with the pick up and drop off times.

I just entered 11:00 am pick up and 10:00 am drop off for your dates and the total is $133.

The prices are all over the place.

FYI-

My rate for early Aug 16-late Aug 28 actually went up from earlier today. So far the best I have is $243. Now it is $340.

Another tip: choose on the hour pick-up and drop-off times instead of on the half hour. It changed my rate by $26 by changing 5:30 to 6:00. Crazy but true.

So I went to try the on the hour recommendation, since I reserved on the half hour. It was $6 less. I then tried my original time again; that too was down the $6. Go figure...

Every little bit helps, though. That $6 will cover the cost of a case of water.

I just switched to Alamo using the Alamo Insiders (Free to join) coupon AD4027JDO for $40.00 off and Costco Contract ID 7014627 (or there are many others listed on the Mousesavers site that give the same discount). I got $78.25 TOTAl out the door!

and it took my full size down 30.00!!

Don't forget, you can book a standard at MCO and get a full, as they do not have full at MCO. A standard is generally less costly then a full.
