Great air fares

Just booked travel from Buffalo, NY to Orlando for October and the rate was $135, including tax and fees!! I can hardly believe this rate. I booked thru Orbitz.com as this fare was not listed by travelocity.com. I can't afford not to go and will be at home OKW.

I saw a fare of $98 for Boston to Orlando in August/September. It was very tempting. ;)

lionqueen, great rate. I live in batavia. small world isn't it. our home is at the bw. i wonder if we know each other?

I managed to get a good rate, too. From Jackson, MS r/t to Orlando for $75, tax included. This allowed me (alone, for the first time) to take an unplanned trip to the "World" in early Sept. BTW, I also called and was able to get 6 nights at the All-Stars for $49/night before tax - amazing !

Has anyone ever used MS to book flights? Have you found them to be competitive or am I better off doing the leg work myself via net, etc? Also, is there any kind of surcharge (like the $75 when booking concierge). Thanks for your help!

Laurie

Boo: MS is ok but I found it better to do the leg work myself using the internet.

I checked the Southwest site this week and got a price of $109.50 r/t from BUF to MCO!(August).

There are definitely some great rates out there!!

We were able to snag $129.50 for non-stop flights from Detroit to Orlando on Northwest. (One of only a couple airlines that offer non-stop flights to Orlando out of Detroit).

Now if we could only get these great rates year round! :p

Beth:

What were your dates from Dtw to MCO? We are trying to find some good rates for October 10-20 but no luck so far.

buf to mco august 26th for 115$ rt but times were not that great

we just have to wait at the airport a couple of hours before picking up the rental car in .....orlando....

Hi Trudy,

We're going September 12-19. And the times were perfect, which makes it even better! :)

This particular fare is only good through the end of September so I'm afraid it won't work for your trip dates.

I'm always on the lookout for good fares from Detroit to Orlando, so I'll be sure to post if I see anything for October or later.

Good luck!

How recent was your purchase on Orbitz.com? Also, did you book more than 4 passengers? I visited their website and got good rates, but I need booking for 7 people. Also, are you guaranteed seating, do you get some sort of confirmation via the mail (or an email), etc. Can you help me out as I have a temporary hold on 7 tickets with AirTran @ $192 R/T.
(That is a PHONE reservation, not via the internet).

Hi Kimmar067. I am Lionqueen's mom and made res thru Orbitz 7/3 with e-ticket confirmation via e-mail on 7/4. Ressie was for only one as DS decided to join family. I was quite worried about getting a reasonable fare as I thought the family's res at $177 was quite good and just assumed rates would be up. I now wish I waited to reserve for all so that we could travel together. I have found that sometimes online will only take res for 4 at a time, so you might need to split request. I found Orbitz to be quite user friendly. Please post your experience if you reserve with Orbitz. HTH. Good luck.
