:goodvibes just wanted to let trip planners know that there is a 72 hour sale for Southwest, here are the details.

http://www.southwest.com/

travel 0 to 374 miles = $25 each way,
375 to 549 miles = $50 each way, (we bought this one from Denver to John Wayne!!) great price

550 to 999 miles = $75

1000 + = $100

I believe the sale just started today.

Sale started at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time last night. I stayed up checking different dates and hotels prices but decided to wait until this morning to book. Phoenix to Orange County is $25/each way. That's the best price I've come across and we fly that route three or four times a year. Hadn't planned on going to Disneyland already because we just got back from Disneyland Paris, but for that price I couldn't resist.

Thanks so much for this post!!! I just booked a birthday trip in January--$142 total for two of us!

Just wanted to say thanks. Mommy and son trip is booked now. Airfare and rental car under $200~ sweet!!! Plus there was availability at Grand California Villas:cool1: Now I have 2 trips to count down for!!

How do you get a villa if you don't have Dvc points?

Thanks for this - DH and I are looking at it for our first internal flight between Burbank and Las Vegas (we're going LA for a few nights first, then LV, then drive to DL.)

Inc tax its about $240 for the 4 of us.

You can rent DVC points from an owner (there is a section on the DVC just for this) and there are also villas usually available by cash reservations only.

Thanks! Do you make the cash reservations through the DLR reservations number?

I keep thinking at that price, I ought to book another flight, LOL. No!!!! Must stop!!! :rotfl: :scared1:

Ahhhh... U got my hopes up. Haha. Great deal but it wont help me for this weekend, its only good in dec. And feb. Thanks for the info though.

I just booked a weekend in Dec for my hubby and I! We are leaving the kids with Grandma and Grandpa so I also booked Napa Rose! Haven't been yet, can't wait to try.

We have APs and hotel points so this trip is cheap!!

Thanks SWA!!

A lot of the other airlines are matching Southwest now. If you go to Priceline.com there is a link where they will search all of the airlines that are matching Southwest.

I stayed up late contemplating booking Southwest the first night of the sale and waited. This morning I saw the match offer on priceline. Southwest would have required layovers and even plane changes to get the fare listed which increased the airport fees and taxes.

Well Priceline.com showed Delta making a matching offer and now we have direct flights both ways and saved a few dollars in taxes and fees. I didn't even book through priceline, once I saw the offer come back I went to delta.com and book it directly through them.

Long story short, check with priceline.com and see who else might be matching the sale fares through the end of tomorrow. You might be able to get a more direct flight for the same price!

See I don't get this. I tried to book from SLC and its quoting 75.00. We are obviously closer than DEN. However the SLC flight all require stop over and/or plane changes, so it looks like that might be why the fare is higher, either they are tacking on the extra miles into the total or they are treating it like to seperate segments. Either way we aren't privy to as cheap of a deal.

I started checking on booking SLC to LAS and then LAS SNA which was 25.00 a segment, but would have been wasting half a day each way or more to make the connections.

I ended up booking direct flights through Delta.com as soon as I found out they were matching the fare.

Not only will we have more time in the parks this way, but I guess its kind of a snub to Southwest for the fare being higher from SLC than it is from DEN, LOL

haha :) I booked this deal too going for my bday :) haha and used the DVC for Grand California too :)

I had to waitlist at the Grand Villas as they are booked for my weekend in Dec. Here's hoping I get in! If not, Concierge at the Sheraton Park is fine with me!! (pays to have a Platinum DH:goodvibes)
