Gratuities for party of 6 ordering alcohol..

Ok I am having trouble figuring this out. Does a party of 6 get charged the 18% and another 18 % if they order alcohol or non covered items(like the glowing cup thing or appetizers) or is it just the one 18% across the board whether you order alcohol or not? I dont know if I'm reading it wrong or what. Someone help me lol.

An automatic 18% gratuity charge will be added to your bill for parties of 6 or more. An automatic gratuity charge may also be added to your bill for items you order that are not included in the Disney Dining Plan (for example, alcoholic beverages).

That's some strange wording on Disney's part...

If my Disney to English translator is working properly, it should just mean that: "Parties of 6 or more will be charged an 18% gratuity on their items" AND SEPARATELY "If you order off-plan items, you may be charged an automatic gratuity on those items" (though I've never personally seen this happen, it could be new, or I could be lucky). I highly doubt they'd charge 18% across the board (on all items including the off-plan items), and then an additional amount on those off-plan items. They could also be talking about corkage fees or something for wines and such? That's a bit out of my area as I typically order a single glass of wine, a couple beers, or a couple margaritas .

Ok great..thank you both so much..thought I was losing it. An additional 18% for just alcohol would have meant no alcohol or alcohol before we eat..like at the bar. lol..thanks for clarifying!


Oh and I'm more of a couple of margaritas girl too..so no corking fees for me lol. I just want to try the Lapu Lapu and a few others. That's all. lol
