Gratitude is free... what are YOU giving thanks for this year?

I am thankful for many things. What I am most thankful is that my wonderful Grandpa is still with us. On Friday we were pretty sure he wouldn't make it, but Praise the Lord he is still with us. He is still in ICU but he is off all tubes and getting stronger every day! :lovestruc

I am thankful for so much this year, I guess like every year. I'm glad to have a healthy family and a mother who means so much to me, especially that she's happy. I have the unconditional love of my DP and the rest of my family. I'm grateful that I have a place to live, tasty food to eat, a comfortable lifestyle, and entertainment when I need it. I'm grateful for my cat, that rascally bag of fur. Most importantly I'm grateful that I'm blessed to have made another journey around the sun - mostly intact. :upsidedow

made another journey around the sun

That is a really nifty way of looking at it. I've never thought of that before. I think you just added a permanent facet to my perspective! Thanks!

Congrats! Our youngest is from China and he was 2.5 when we got him. He is now 7.5 years old and an incredible kid. We are very thankful as well.

Dawn

I love hearing from those of you who have been in this journey. I know they grow so fast, we are trying to relax and enjoy every moment with this wonderful boy!

I am of course thankful for my family, friends, health, freedom.

I am also thankful for the ability to pay two mortgages. We moved here for a much better job for my husband but have been unable to sell our house where we moved from. It's been on the market 510 days. It sucks to pay for two houses. But I am thankful that my husband is in a better job situation, and thankful that we are able to pay for both houses without going into debt.

I work with short sales and foreclosures at a real estate office and see so many people that can't even pay for one house. I hate that we are paying for an empty house. But just thankful that we CAN.

- Living past 25
( so many high risk behaviors .... i beat the odds )
- My son
( he has taught me who i am inside, while simultaneously loving me anyway)
- Choices
( Being 31 yet I still feel like I can do what ever i want to with my life, lots of doors still open)
- My Mother
( she is really crazy, like myself, but brought me into the world and and pushed me in the right direction by threatening to take me out of it)

Thanks for:

My family
My friends
My job (as lousy as it is - it is a job)
My opportunities. I always believe that something wonderful can happen at any moment.

I am thankful for my husband, who works hard to take care of me.
I am thankful that I am a healthy girl.
I am thankful that I have a job to go to everyday.
I am thankful for our troops, who sacrifice everyday,so that we can be thankful.

Thank you to everyone for sharing

I am thankful for another day to share with my family and friends.

This year I learned to find the positive in negative situations... for me, that is a BIG thing to be thankful for.

I'm gratelful for my 4 healthy, happy, amazing children; for my loving, caring, patient husband; and for being able to be thankful and happy!

my wonderful husband and the amazing life he has provided me with...my children are all healthy...we are healthy.

I am grateful that I'm alive to see this beautiful day.

I am thankful for:

  • A husband who is on the sofa being a couch potato, because he is home with me and not out at the bars.
  • The teenagers who are complaining about doing the dishes because it means they are at home and not out on the streets.
  • For the taxes we pay because it means we have an income.
  • For the mess to clean up after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends & family.
  • For the clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.
  • For the lawn that needs mowing, the windows that need washing & the beds to be made because it means I have a home.
  • For all the complaining I hear about the government because it means we have freedom of speech.
  • For the parking space I find at the end of the lot because it means I am able to walk and I have been blessed with transportation.
  • For my huge heating bill because it means that I am warm.
  • For the pile of laundry & ironing I have because it means I have clothes to wear.
  • For weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been capable of working hard.
  • For the alarm that goes off each morning because it means that I am alive.

I am grateful for my DH, even if he is slumped over at the far end of the couch, snoring. My DSis is having a horrible, painful time right now. My BIL, her husband of 20 years, came out this fall, telling her he's always been gay and has left her and my two nieces (14 and 11) for his "new love." I am thankful that my DH doesn't lie to me, doesn't deceive me, and loves me, even though I am SO not perfect. After 26 years of marriage, sometimes I think the flame is flickering, sputtering, dimming, but after this year I know, in my heart of hearts, that he still loves me as much as I love him... and for this I am deeply, humbly thankful.
