granite/tile cleaner

We just remodelled our kitchen and we have granite counters and porcelein tile floor. The installer said that we can use any cleaner that does not have ammonia in it. Everyone I have looked at containd ammonia. What products do you use to clean? Thanks

I use green Windex on my granite. It doesn't have ammonia in it, but it's hard to find. Just recently I noticed that Home Depot and Lowe's were carrying it.

When I find it, I buy it in bulk.

I can't help you with the tile; I have hardwood and travertine floors.

target sells a granite cleaner (method) that I love...I have a ton of granite and buy several bottles.

we have a marble kitchen floor and I have yet to figure out what works best on it.

Lysol wipes is what I use on my granite counters. Soap and water works too. You don't need specialized products. I use Swiffer cleaning stuff on my granite staircases.

Lowes carries a cleaner (not sure what it's called off hand) that every time you use it it also helps keep the granite sealed. They also have a granite polish that I use about once a week to keep them shining. For quick cleaning I just use vinegar and water in a spray bottle.

I use it for cleaning just about everything. IMO it cleans mirrors better than window cleaner. It is the only thing I have found to use on my pergo floor that does not leave streaks.

Don't use vinegar and water for the tile floors! I was doing this and when I told the people who did my tile floor they said the vinegar wrecks the grout. They said to just use hot water or if you need something to disinfect use some Lysol floor cleaner. Another piece of advice: with your granite counters around the sink: It will chip! Be careful with heavy pans! I thought it was almost indestructable until I chipped the edge of my new granite! It made me sick.
