Grandvilla OKW. 7 months thanksgiving

E are planning a big family trip for 2016. I am liking at a grandvilla at OKW or SSR. What are my chances at 7 months checking in thanksgiving day and checking out the following Friday ????

OKW...odds are not good. Very popular due to low point costs (compared to other resorts' Grand Villas.) It's also a holiday period and sounds like your trip would spill over into early December which features the cheapest DVC season of the year.

SSR is more likely. Resort has a few more GVs than OKW and the nightly costs are higher.

I have been thinking of moving it the week before thanksgiving and leaving before thanksgiving crowds if that helps my chances.

That would certainly increase your odds of getting OKW but there are no guarantees.

I did some calendar checking in 2016 . Thanksgiving is early. So the week after thanksgiving will still be higher points

We wanted Grand Villa this year for OKW and I messed up and didn't try to book until 7 months out and we were shut out. OKW is our home resort and we just didn't pull the trigger fast enough. The GV's at OKW are the largest and make for great holiday gatherings so my guess is it will be pretty difficult getting one 7 months out that close to a holiday.

We ended up going with 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom which will probably work out better with 2 different families but man, I love the OKW Grand Villas!!! Good luck!!!
