Thanks! Those units look like they will have incredible pool acess and a nice view! Can't wait to see it all finished.

I was there last week too,. I was looking at the plan for the new pool. It will be horse race themed. the pool deck will be the race track with the water being the grass area in the middle of the track. I could not see a slide but did see a splash area on the prints.

Canada and Vonpluto - Did SSR say when that section might be opening? We are planning on going in September and would liek to request the Grandstand Section.

I was hoping that the racetrack would be a lazy river. Wouldn't that be cool?

Nice pics ... would be nice for SSR to rehab and absorb the treehouses ... "The Treehouses at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa" ... has a nice ring to it ... :)

Ok, bare with me...I have never stayed at SSR, do not really know "lay of the land" but I have a map of the resort. What exactly and I looking at here. I see the "Saratoga" sign--looks like the starting gates of the track. Is that the pool area? Also, what is the building that looks white in color? I didn't see a slide as mentioned in an above post. What else might be going up over there. The tree houses look a little creepy. I would hate to see them at night knowing they are "abandoned".

Anyway, thanks for the pictures. We're sooooo close to buying--seeing the pictures makes it more exciting!

According to a DVC release a few months back, The Grandstand will have a hot tub, a regular pool and a "racetrack pool". I'm guessing it will be an elliptical shaped pool and the "Saratoga" sign is part of the theme.

The white building is the pool building. According to the map I posted here,

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1290778

it will contain the Backstretch Pool Bar, guest laundry and restrooms.

As far as the Treehouses, they are not abandoned, but are being used by International CP's.

I believe the target date is early Spring. :confused3

My guess is a regular pool surrounded by a lap pool. There is a need for a lap pool at a WDW resort, and it would fit with SSR's theme.

The treehouses are definitely inhabited. We walked out on the golf course on Nov. 26, and were surprised by just how close the treehouses really are. The 18th hole is on the backside of the Grandstand, and that's all that separates them, a very narrow hole. I was surprised, too, that no one stopped us from looking around, although we were outside the green "fence", and not bothering anything. I think the golf cart people were keeping an eye on us, but they didn't speak to us at all, just watched us. It was dusk, so no golfers were out that late. DH noted that golfers hate it when non-golfers go out on golf courses, but I wanted to get close. :thumbsup2

Isn't it kinda dangerous to do that with the potential to get hit by a rogue ball? :confused3
